Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe rooms do show their age a little, this can have its charms but it is noticable
What shines in this B&B is the service, the staff go 100% above and beyond in friendliness and actions performed. Breakfast is provided to your room which is a lovely touch. the location in the centre of Cavell, a stones throw away from the sea is great.

United KingdomUnfortunately there were two few abandoned cars in the front car park, and a blue tarpaulin over the top of one of the featured windows as you look at the property from the road which made us question if we had the right property when we first arrived. I know these are minor but made the place look run down and unkept, not great for first impressions. On entering the BnB it is clean, well kept and has a nice lobby area. We stayed in room 1 which looks out to the car park and the high ceilings and large room suited us well. In the room was a private bathroom which had build it, allowing for a sink, toilet and shower but the finish of the toilet and shower in particular where questionable. The doors didn’t quite close and there was no ventilation to either, which is not great if you are sharing the room with someone else. One last point is that the breakfast is not a cooked fry up, but this we didn’t mind.
The property is in a fantastic location and short walk away from the river and pier at Clevedon. The property has classic features of the time period the house was built in, and these have been well kept. David was a wonderful host, very attentive and friendly. The breakfast is a tick sheet completed on arrival and it arrived fresh on trays at the time requested. This we really enjoyed and found novel to have breakfast in our rooms

United KingdomWe always prefer sharing breakfast with other guests in a dining room, but appreciate that this wasn't possible in this particular house. We knew when we booked that breakfast would be brought to our bedroom, so have no complaints.
We were well looked after by David.

United KingdomI wasn't happy with the way breakfast was served, we had to fill in a form for what we wanted the night before and the time we wanted it delivered to our room, not impressed with the choice as I always prefer a full English when I'm away. Having said that, what was served was well presented.
I liked the size of our room and the spotless private bathroom with an excellent shower, I liked the welcome from Dave who was very polite and helpful.

United KingdomLovely welcome from David the owner, he told a lovely story about how the house was named after a nurse who opened an orphanage there last century, her photo is on the wall. It was like staying with family and we had a wonderful continental breakfast brought up to our room in the morning. The beds were super comfy and it was really quiet and relaxing watching TV in bed. The rooms a bit dated but super value for money

United KingdomThe only downside is that this establishment is in desperate need of a very large dose of TLC.
Good location for beach and pier. Good parking. Good continental breakfast served to your room with fruit, yoghurt , cereal, toast, croissant et cetera. Friendly hosts. We had a large family room with a double bed single bed and bunks came for the same price as a double room. Window overlooking rather overgrown but quiet garden at the back.

United KingdomI arrived at 4pm but was told my room wasn't ready. Left for to sit alone in reception for nearly 20 minutes before I could go into my room. Tired interior and dated decoration.

United KingdomI didn't like to have to climb 4 flights of stairs to get to our room. The bathroom light kept coming on and off though the night but after letting the host know he was glad to do something about it and thus save on electric.
A good breakfast was served in our room. The room was spacious and the private bathroom was clean and well appointed. David, the host, is friendly and courteous and explained about the link with Dame Edith Cavell. (He should use this in his advertising)

United KingdomThe shed in the bedroom that formed the bathroom was a bit peculiar. It was all clean and did its job and I know that they have done it like this to preserve the lovely coving in the room. Lovely big room though and comfy bed.
I liked breakfast delivered to my room. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It is a lovely old house but it does need a bit of TLC and updating.

United KingdomOdd placing of the sink (in the living area) relative to the toilet and shower. Needs updating, eg the blue and red decor combo, the carpet, and the untreated wooden door in the shower which was unsurprisingly not doing well with the moisture
Convenient location, and we were greeted by a very welcoming and friendly staff member
