The beds were so dated and uncomfortable. Well past their best in both rooms. One of the rooms only had a 7” walking space (against the wall) to get out of bed. neither rooms had bedside lights and only one room had a mirror. Although there was working heating in both rooms, it was still freezing , a spare/extra blanket wouldve be helpful . To be fair, we didnt tell the staff as we arrived at 10.30pm and was only there for 1 night

visually the hotel looks lovely and the staff were very welcoming

The food is over priced for what it is. Paid £15 for dinner that was over cooked fish in bread crumbs. The breakfast. was expecting a buffet but no. It was not worth the £12.50 I paid!!

The room was large and exceptional view of the sea with a balcony that was great.

What we didn’t like was you couldn’t get a drink or food between breakfast and evening meal. Bar remained closed until 6pm. As advertised on their on web site we were looking forward to afternoon tea. That was not on offer. Not good service for a 4 star hotel.

Close to the beach and town centre. Room was spacious and comfortable.

Wi fi not working, front entrance closed, so entry to hotel was at the rear, via the carpark, was given a basement room, so very noisy during the stay at all hours due to guests having to use this entrance. Room itself was just makeshift, no window, thin plasterboard walls, heard everything.

Bar not open Drinks only served during dinner Menus on A4 paper little choice Had to pay to park in hotel car park Door to hotel broke so had to use back entrance - very drab first impressions Stair carpet had not been hoovered for a while Rooms nice but shabby! Couldn't open any windows in room Breakfast ended at 9.15 far too early in fact we missed it but was still brought a plate of food not very nice!

the degradation of the hotel inside and out I lived in Eastbourne a few years ago and the Cavandish was a good hotel, my son had is prom there. The front door of the hotel not in use .The main entrance is at back through the car park. Should have both options. The reception are is ok .The corridors and stairs are dirty and have not been hovered for a few days I would say.

The view, When I booked the room it said it didn't have a window, when I arrived they gave me a room with a window facing the sea, which was very good.

Some of the things that come with age for an old building. Finishing and detailing was a bit shabby but had been maintained.

Fantastic view of the sea. Large room. Comfortable bed. Reasonably fast WiFi (£7 24hrs). Quiet. Polite and friendly staff, felt welcomed.

The receptionist Ushia was not helpful she looks unhappy always I’ve been here 7 times and I have to pay £15 more to change my room as I can’t breath on the room without window hence I have been booking ur hotel for the past 7 consecutive weekends I was asking kindly if I can be transferred for free but not given a chance . She even needs to be trained how to smile to your guests . My colleagues have experienced the same , this particular staff was not helpful at all..
