Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomPrevious reviews had mentioned to expect loud music from being right on Mathew Street. True - every night till about 4.00 am from more than one venue the music keeps going, LOUDLY. If you can cope with that, it's an ideal apartment. If you can't, don't say you haven't been warned.
Clean, spacious and central for everywhere you might want to visit attractions-wise or just wander from. Great value for a two bedroom property, all the kitchen appliances you might need and a big TV in the apartment we had booked. Secure entry system as well.

United KingdomThe property was extremely warm during our stay, could possibly improve by supplying a fan to help with the heat. The apartment was very clean but the bathroom had hair still in the shower and skid mark stains in the toilet on arrival. Service may be needed for the hob in the kitchen as it was making sparking crackling sounds when we used it and the extractor fan didn't work. You also cannot order a takeaway to this property, for some reason the address does not come up so we had to order to someone else's address on Mathew street, then wait outside hoping to catch the delivery driver. The sound from the clubs has been a regular complaint in many reviews, it is something to consider when booking this apartment, the property faces Victoria street, and are directly facing 5 clubs, open until 5am, playing live music, karaoke, and you can feel the base music while laying in bed. Also because it is city centre there is daily bin services between 7-8am. There is nothing you can do regarding the noise but it is something to consider if you plan to book here. We invested in a good pair of ear plugs, had to close both windows in the heat but ended up muffling some of the noise and we still got a good night's sleep.
Lovely double apartment, spacious, comfortable, with everything you need during your stay. 15 min walk from train station, the m&s arena. Less than 5 min walk from a Tesco express, m&s foodhall, a shopping centre. The apartment was very comfortable and cozy, lovely original details of the double sash windows, with an extra added glass panel to help with sound and draft. Radiators throughout. Bed was very very comfortable, provided 2 duvets but due to heat we ended up just using the bed sheet. Provided hairdryer, iron and ironing board, there is a washing machine and airer. Water pressure is amazing! But we didn't get any cold water, I suspect due to the hot weather. Until we fully used all the hot water in the immersion tank. There was lift access to the property which was essential for us and our stay. Overall we would plan on staying again.

The amenities and location of apartment are excellent! So it can be a little noisy, but the quality of the music and being so close to Mathew Street really outweighs that. We had a two room apartment and I slept in the back one and could not hear anything really. And the noise seemed to stop at a reasonable time. Could not rate amenities and location more highly if you are looking to experience the real Liverpool music scene. Also so close to everything - Liverpool 1, the Docks, museums, The Cavern Quarter, train and bus stations ...everything

United KingdomThis is no fault of the hosts and we were out on the booze so didn't matter too much but the volume is really loud in the room even at 4/5am. Pigeons on top making a noise. Not sure if there are spikes etc to stop them sitting there. I'm not too sure it is fixable as the location is there and that is the perk of being close to the action. I would definitely not have liked this if I was on a business trip though and would recommend it is noted that it is on a busy strip and music will be played until late. If you don't know the area and are on business it would be a nightmare.
Room looked really good. Spacious and equipped well. Good size tv with options for films etc. It was great value for money overall for what we were looking for.

United KingdomNoise from the street was very loud. Bars in the area seemed to close early enough round 11 so wasn't much noise after 11.30pm, however form 4.30am onwward there was a lot of nice from night deliveries, bin lorry collecting the glass bottles fomr the bar and resturaunts and then the street sweapers were out.
The Apartment was very spacious, clean and tidy. It had most of what you needed, glasses, microwave, fridge etc and there was a Sainbury oLocal and Tesco Express across the road. The Location was great, just round the corner from the Cavern and main bar area and walking distance to most places.
