Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

United KingdomThe Spa is very nice but unfortunately during this visit the young lady on the reception appeared to have left her personality at home along with her helpful gene. Hey ho, can't have it all I suppose.
The hotel is fantastic, great facilities, fabulous door and reception staff. Rooms are spacious and clean with complimentary toiletries, water, tea and coffee, ohh and the best shortbread biscuits 😋

United KingdomReview. Everyone at The Grand helped to make our wedding anniversary weekend fabulous. Starting with a cheerful welcome from the concierge and valet parking driver after a long and delayed journey, a very smooth check in with a surprise anniversary treat from the lovely reception team, much needed treatments from the ladies in the spa after 5 hours in the car! The highlight was our anniversary dinner at the hotel’s Legacy fine dining restaurant, hosted by Derek, who took us through our 8 course tasting menu and wine flight journey brilliantly, what a fountain of knowledge he is! A huge thanks to Derek and the restaurant team who looked after us and the very creative and talented chefs, absolutely incredible. Our accommodation was fantastic, spacious with views across the city walls, the comfiest bed and everything you could want for a relaxing break. Our last night ended with a few cocktails and excellent acoustic music from the live entertainment in the 1906 bar. Breakfast was amazing on our final morning. Checking out was smooth, friendly and helpful. York is a beautiful city but without doubt, the staff at The Grand really made this an unforgettable stay for us. Thank you!

United KingdomNeeded to book in advance for specific Spa treatments. Some of the staff were not as friendly as I would have hoped for. The bed was comfortable but rather on the firm side. A loo brush would have been a good addition to the otherwise excellent bathroom.
The hotel is lovely & perfect walking distance from all the sights of York. Good Spa. - Booking an hourly slot in advance means that the facilities become more exclusive.

The staff were absolutely amazing all so helpful and friendly. The food was fantastic and breakfast had every option covered and was quick and easy. Room was great.

Amazing stay. Booked to celebrate our anniversary, and we weren't disappointed. We got to our room, and there were chocolates and a card from the guest services team wishing us a happy anniversary, such a lovely gesture. Breakfast was full of choice, cooked, continental, and a la carte. Perfect location for the many attractions of York, all within walking distance. Easy access to the rail station. Staff were all polite and accommodating. A perfect stay, so much so, we're booking again for November to enjoy the hospitality of The Grand and the York Christmas Market.
