Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomHard to find a dislike. Could use a refurb but then it'd be more expensive. You get what you pay for

United KingdomThe sink had a few hairs in it where it looked like someone had shaved over it and then it hadn’t been cleaned out fully so just needed a wipe out really.
Really central location. We had to book this hotel very last minute after our train was cancelled quite late into the evening. It was only a five minute walk from Kings Cross which was ideal! Really comfortable bed, very good WiFi connection in our room. Was a bit worried that as it was above a pub it would be noisy but didn’t hear any noise which was brilliant.

NetherlandsThe shared bathroom could have been a bit cleaner.
In walking distance of St Pancras International trainstation, on a lovely street corner. Simpel but nice little hotel. Friendly owner and staff. I could use their washing machine and dryer to do my laundry.

GermanyAdmittedly I booked quite late so my room cost more than an earlier reservation but it was too expensive. A single room with shared bathroom should be maximum €100, no more. But room and bathroom are clean, but in need of updating.
Central Station is one of oldest established Gay pubs in London, and it’s great that they have a small hotel based above. Friendly staff and a fun pub, just round the corner from Kings Cross St Pancras stations, and in a quiet road.

United KingdomThe interior feels like it could use an update. Walls were thin… I could hear my neighbour snoring like a freight train. Shared bathroom isn't ideal, especially if you're in a rush in the morning.
Great location with plenty of restaurants and entertainment around. The staff were friendly and showed me to my room. The shower was hot with plenty of pressure.

UkraineThe room wasn’t very clean, bed sheets were with stains. The room was on the 3rd floor and it’s quite complicated to go there with heavy bags.
Good location near the Kings Cross station (7 min walk). Calm and cozy place, comfortable room with hairdryer, iron, cattle and everything for tea and coffee. The staff was friendly and helped us with suitcases. It’s a good place to stay in London for this price.

United KingdomThe only slight downside is there are lots of steep narrow stairs up to the top floor - fine for me but bear this in mind if you have mobility issues or a really big bag.
Small but comfortable room. Don't book this expecting a luxury hotel, but it is good value, clean, and comfortable with a shared bathroom. The location is excellent - it is in a pretty and quiet area less than 10mins walk from Kings Cross. The staff/owners were just lovely. The shared bathroom is fine, the toilet was blocked the morning I stayed but they sorted it out very quickly! I hadn't realised when I booked that it is literally above an LGBTQ bar - which made me feel right at home :) Unfortunately I didn't get chance to sample the bar but there was no noise or anything.

United KingdomLNo lift, awkward to access the rooms. Staff helped with suitcase checking in, but were not available in the morning for checking out. No breakfast provided. No proper check-out, you just deposit your keys in a box and go. Bathroom very small, tiny shower cubicle with too-short curtain, peeling paint.
Very clean Friendly staff These are basically a few rooms above a pub, and so are OK for the set-up. Glass bottle of water and glasses provided.

GermanyI have no complaints.
The staff was friendly and extremely helpful and made sure that hot and cold beverages were readily available. As it was a very hot day in London, the fan in the room was another plus point. The hotel is only a ten-minute walk away from King's Cross Railway Station.
