I tried to go out to my car late at night to find the access locked. Eventually my partner found a notice which said to dial 0 from the room or find the night porter in room 9. There are no telephones in the rooms so went to find the night porter who showed me the way out. I was not the only guest with this problem..This could all have been avoided if there was information in the room or it was given at check in. I would say this was very inconvenient other aspects however were good.

The loverly setting, our room overlooked the river. The comfy lounge with a roaring log burner. Food was of a reasonable standard good sized portions and tasty.

Other guests were arguen, outside it went on for hours, they were in room facing us but went outside and was shouting by stream to car park. Parents and their kids up until 4.30am

Staff were very nice, excellent location, good breakfast. We were in Llangollen for a wedding, so didn’t spend much time in the hotel but there were nice areas to sit and have a drink and the river view is mesmerising.

Quite chilly in eating areas especially on the Monday morning as we were only people there. Bedrooms were tired and mattress very lumpy

Staff were very good and helpful,very busy on the Saturday with people walking in for drinks and coffee Restaurant full with big groups on evening. Food brought out quickly

We couldn't the turn radiator on in room and there was a smell of cooking coming into the room.

Location, the character of the building and rooms, comfortable and cosy atmosphere. A good selection on the evening meal menu which were reasonably priced, staff friendly and helpful.

A longer stay! Time there was not long enough to enjoy the surrounding fauna and walks which could be found on or just off the canal towpath.

The location of the hotel was excellent, between the canal and the river. The relaxing but slight noisy river due it been in full floor was impressive and the overall welcome and warmth given by the staff to make the stay relaxing and inviting. The food, both breakfast and dinner was excellent. The room, over looking the river was adequate and comfortable and exceedingly warm. The balcony was a must to sit on, even in the brief showers as it was under cover and taking a glass or cup of something while enjoying the force and beauty of the river was also a must do. In general over all the hotel with the present staff was great.

Staff seemed a bit like ducks in water, calm on the surface but look as if they are a bit stressed underneath. Little bit unprofessional, something was a bit off.. Food seemed a bit overpriced. Room was hot despite it nearly being winter! Had to keep window wide open all night which meant that the river was loud, was okay once asleep. Such a beautiful place though, wouldn't stop me from coming back.

Overall the location was beautiful. Especially as it's October so the autumn colours from the balcony made it even more stunning. Haven't stayed in a place like this before, so quirky, nice surroundings to explore. Clean, nicely decorated. Comfy bed.

Nothing. I loved the property. It wasn’t their fault my neighbours, for some reason had the tv volume so loud, I suspect they didn’t like the beautiful sound of the river rushing bay. Maybe they need the canal side if that’s the case.

Absolutely loved this hotel. Room clean. Breakfast delicious to set you up for the day. Meals available to purchase were lovely. Perfect location beside the river dee. I’ll miss that wonderful sound. Minutes walk from Horseshoe falls and a lovely canal walk into Llangollen.

Location amazing, staff lovely, lounge and bar comfortable and welcoming. The room was small but had everything we needed and the breakfast was very good indeed. It was very good value for money.

Slightly disappointed that the evening meal was effectively a pub not a restaurant. Suspect that is what the vast majority of guests prefer these days however.

Very dated, lots of stairs, corridors etc. Very expensive for toom/ hotel quality.

Excellent staff, very helpful. Dinner good too.
