WiFi could have been better as mobile network is pretty bad along the coast of the island.

Location of the hotel is great. Close to Shanklin beach and our partial beach view room lifted our spirits when we reached there. Breakfast was good. Staff were good.

It was very good location. The cooked breakfast was a normal size, not sure if we could ask for extra. Fruit and perhaps some pastries would of been good to be available. Staff were very pleasant and informative.

Booking included 30 min massage but hotel folks were not even aware of it that the booking included massage and there was no one available for massage. Overall o felt I was charged extra for massage

Clean, comfortable rooms. Amazing sea view and helpful staff. Breakfast was great too with veggie/vegan options. They even had sausages for our dog! They also had an EV charger on site (at additional cost) which was convenient. The only reason I’m giving a 9 was cuz the windows were slightly dirty on the exterior - had some bird poop obscuring the beautiful view . Nonetheless, we would absolutely stay here again whenever we visit IOW

Check in took 20mins Restaurant not open in evenings though advertised and 2nd night we were there they opened it for a coach party.. Came back to our room one afternoon and the TV was on and blaring out and we hadn't had it on so looked as if someone had been in our room. The bread by the toaster had ran out one morning so I asked for some and the waitress bought out 3 slices of bread

The only thing that would have improved the stay was the weather being better, but that is clearly outside the control of the hotel!

This was my second stay at the Channel View Hotel. After a brief overnight stay in 2023, I knew what to expect and opted for a longer stay this time. As before, I received a very warm welcome and enjoyed a comfortable room that was spotlessly clean and kept nice and warm, considering the weather. The breakfast in the morning was very good and the staff couldn't have been nicer, always willing to offer help when needed. Location wise, this ranks among the best in Shanklin, as it overlooks the esplanade and the front-facing rooms have an incredible panoramic view across Sandown Bay, which is arguably one of the best views on the Island. You are a short walk from the beach, the Old Village and the town, so everything is within easy reach.

- water at the pool was cold. - When we arrive, staff were really warm and welcoming. Then a coach arrives and the reception staff got less charming..and the breakfast services got poor. We had to help ourselves to find the cutlery, serviette. And we got moved to a table in a very dark room without warning. No sea view at breakfast any more!

-The location was amazing - right by the sea side and near the train station. - cleaning staff were perfect.

Everything was good there was nothing to dislike and whilst we didn’t use them we were surprised by the beautiful swimming pool ,the sizeable well shaped functions room and the full and complete full sized bar.

Shower cubicle was very small; shower curtain clingy; light over basin not working although we accept we did not report it; beds were soft and divan bases very shabby; lots of steps/stairs to get in and out.

Breakfast was fine but advertised prunes and grapefruit were not on offer; The cost of additional breakfast items at £1.40 seemed a bit excessive. The location and view was excellent and there was sufficient parking on site and on the road.

Quite a few steps/stairs if you have heavy cases. Corridors were quite warm! (But could turn radiators down in the room.)

We could not get WiFi in our room at all The food to order in the hotel restaurant for evenings could be better for the price. There was not much choice of evening food available in the local area partly because of the time of year we came (February)alot of the restuarants and takeaways were shut in Shanklin and surrounding towns and hardly anything open on a Tuesday which was strange !

We stayed in a nice big family room, with sea view it was very nice and clean and had nice size bathroom. It was also pet friendly :) The breakfast was very nice and staff were helpful too. The staff even prepared our breakfast early as we had to leave to get an early ferry which lovely of them We used the indoor pool and sauna at the hotel The location is perfect close to beach and town There are various activities at the hotel in the evenings

There wasn’t much we didn’t like, the only things we found was the double bed was on the small size for us and the bath was quite short so couldn’t lay down very comfortably and I am only 5ft 6 so tall people might struggle!

Lovely staff, Fab breakfast and facilities including an indoor swimming pool and sauna. Great location overlooking shanklin Beach.
