Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Broken furniture in room Also had lock on door replaced which took 2 hours from going to buy one and then replacing it so I couldn't relax before going out for the evening. Very strong smell of cannabis in room too! Original room had an ensuite and cheaper but this room I had to pay a bit extra and shared bathroom! No lamps in room. So too bright in evening with big light only.

United KingdomNot completely clean from the previous user (shower had hairs in and was not fully clean), it was cold when I first entered as all the windows were open. No cups or milk to accompany the tea/coffee making items. Doors were just a flimsy internal door (no fire doors) with a lock, and being the last room in the attic (three flights of stairs), there would have been zero fire escape for me. Also, there is no lamp for subtle lighting or TV.
The bed was clean and very comfortable, with a good location to the people I was visiting and to the city, good sized cupboard and desk just needed the camp bed removing or stowing away to use them. (I didn't need them as I was only there 1 night) The room I was in had an en-suit bathroom, which helped.

United KingdomOur bed had stains on alongside the pillow made me and my friends feel uncomfortable sleeping at night. The headboard of our bed was broken upon arrival. The toilet seat was also broken and complimented with half a roll of toilet paper. We felt uncomfortable to take our shoes off as the floor was unsanitary and didn’t look clean. The desk that was in the room was covered in dust, as well as the random glass which hadn’t been cleaned. We could hear footsteps all night. The light was blinding there’s no attention to detail was left with 2 towels to share between 3 people as well as no hand towels. Don’t be fooled by the photos.

United KingdomBooked with very different expectations seeing the reviews on booking.com. We didnt have a good experience with the person welcoming us as he was very confused as if we had arrived in someones house unexpected. At the door of the property the person asked for my booking details, after seeing it he tried to get on phone with someone and later told me we will be in Room 7 and will need to change the room later on. When i told him we only had one nights booking he told us ok your room is Room 8 (which had a broken door knob). Further going towards the room we saw a very small attic with shoes placed outside as if in use by someone and lots of folded bed linen spread on the alleyway towards the room. The room itself was not the cleanest of all. As a result I left the room within 5-10 minutes and had to book another property. Upon leaving I left a message and a call with booking.com about the condition of the room and requested a refund (although my booking was not refundable but I didnot use the room at all). Upon getting in touch with OYO and the property i was denied the refund (which is their right) but was told complete lies as a reason of that I reached the property before 3 PM check-in time and stayed 45 minutes. This was shocking for me and not true at all as I had only arrived in Manchester on 3:20 PM the same day. A very disappointing and traumatic experience in the end.

NorwayCleaning, the toilet and shower was dirty. No handsoap and lack of toilet paper in the bathroom. We were 5 people in two rooms, 3 people in one room and 2 people in one room. And we had 3 towels to share on 5 persons. ( we had to ask for 2 more ) A lot of noice during the evening and night

Carpet on the main floor was disgusting full of weird marks and smells, bathroom Shower full oh hairs, floor with load of nails, people coming in and out all night, was impossible to sleep properly.

United KingdomThe tea making facilities were just some t bags. The cups were dirty and there were no spoons. It would be nice to have some milk. They need better curtains because of all the security lights outside. It was a light as day all night and there was one on a motion sensor that went on and off all night. I did not sleep well. The room was very warm so that the windows needed to be open in february, but that let in the traffic noise.
The bed was very comfy and the staff were polite and friendly.
