Area was dirty and littered

I was surprised at how run down the area was and so decided not to stay

Shared facilities, rundown area, the description and pictures on the website don't accurately reflect the reality of the accommodation. The facilities are shared with a family who live in the house, their personal items are in the living/dining room which makes using the area awkward, the same can be said for the kitchen. There were no hooks in the bedroom or the bathroom to hang anything on, like towels or clothing. The owners weren't available at the checkout and the only contact was via the telephone number listed on the booking. So as the title says, you get what you pay for, it was cheap, the bed was comfortable, the room was clean but dated, as was the furniture in the room.

I don't see there was any mention of this in the room description,I came back to find said small child climbing an open staircase,while the parent slept nearby on a sofa

The location is ok, but challenging in terms of gradients if you're walking from the station. Some guests might find the location of the kitchen and bathroom inconvenient, as you have to pass through the owner's space.

This stay was economical. The host was very friendly and accommodating. The room was warm and cosy. The wardrobe and other conveniences were well provided.

The bathroom was off of the kitchen, which was a tad uncomfortable and I felt uneasy having to use it whilst people were in the kitchen right by the bathroom door. The area wasn't nice at all, I didn't feel comfortable walking around the area and was concerned for my car.

The host was very lovely and accomodating, my room was clean and the house was very well kept.

nice and quiet, comfy for one and convinient location, close to city centre and train station, definitely ideal for backpackers looking to do a nights rest and on with the journey

The room is very small. Only room for a single bed. Fridge in the room is big and a little noisy but, it was ideal for my needs on this visit. The bed is a single bed which was OK for this visit. The TV reception is awful. Hot water takes a little skill to work in the bathroom, but, once you get it, it's easy. No breakfast but access to a kettle in the kitchen for hot drinks. I take my own supplies for hot drinks, so no problem. Don't expect the Ritz, but expect a young family home and a cheap 'ish' bed for the night.

Parking is an issue. On this occasion, I arrived early and they happily allowed me in to rest in the room. They are very helpful, friendly and down to earth. The room did get hot and maybe a fan would help in furture.

It was a home stay with a family, I didn't have the feeling they wanted me there, they were on the phone all the time, didn't ask how I was doing etc etc. Felt like an intruder. Neighborhood didn't feel safe. Won't ever stay here again.

Parking was a great deal more difficult than I'd been led to expect. I'd also not been aware beforehand that I'd be occupying a room in the home of a family whom I didn't know - for a person who when away from (their own) home has a strong preference for travelling/residing alone this was something of a minus-point.

The people were friendly; and the house internally clean, well-kept and tidy.

I am pretty sure there are bed bugs in the bed as I came away with three bites on my neck which still haven't healed and it's swollen up. The bed was very uncomfortable (you can feel the springs in your back and there was a big dip) so the sleep was very broken. Obviously the stay was cheap so you get what you pay for but I would expect no bed bugs at the very least.

A nice homely feel. Everything is clean and well organised. Even provided with towels. Joy is very friendly and welcoming. I had a great night sleep. I would stay here again, especially to save money on hotels. FYI when you shower late at night (i.e. returning at 1am), just let the hot water run for a minute. It takes a while to warm up but after that, its all good!
