Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere wasn’t anything didn’t like. However - bed settee quite uncomfortable for my 15 year old. There were 3 of us in the room but only 2 mugs and no teabags. Did try phoning reception but they were probably busy and then didn’t pursue again. These are just small things and overall had great stay.
Lovely hotel, staff friendly and helpful. Felt special. Wonderful central location. Wish had been staying longer!

United KingdomThe prices of the drinks in the restaurant bar were relatively expensive but that may be because it wasn’t a cheap hotel. Also, the swimming pool area was a lot smaller than expected and unfortunately usually pretty busy with lots of people there. We did decide to try the pool at 7:30am which it was empty but did start to fill up by 8am. Otherwise, everything was really good. The staff were very nice and accommodating too.
We stayed here for my birthday and had a nice relaxing time. My partner had paid for a birthday package where they had bought us a Galaxy Ripple birthday cake, had my age in helium number balloons and a birthday banner with some additional chocolates all ready in our room for us which was a nice touch! We decided to stay in the hotel and make the most of it so had dinner in the restaurant in the evening and the food was really nice. We also had breakfast included and there was a nice selection of hot and cold foods. There was a swimming pool that you could access too and the room was very comfortable. You can also park at the hotel for £13.50 for 24 hours but there are limited spaces, we were lucky to find one of the last ones. However, there is a car park next door anyway.

United KingdomSome miscommunication over the dinner bed and breakfast deal we had paid for and staff tried to charge me albeit sorted fairly quickly. Also had some special party balloons for our table which I had given to restaurant staff who set the table up. Great but then then sat someone else at that ta le whilst we were having a pre dinner drink. Resolved after speaking to them . Great time overall few shortcomings to get there
Great hotel staff very polite and attentive

United KingdomNoisy residents. We had a bloke on a phone in the next room talking really loud, once he came off the phone, the residents in the room above were arguing until around 01:40. I had to call reception as we couldn't get to sleep.
Local to shops and centre.

United KingdomNot much to dislike really Jacuzzi wasn't working Pool was cold but not freezing The gap in the doors in the room are really wide light and noise comes through. No other down side.
We booked a standard twin room very spacious Really clean room comfy bed Hair dryer, kettle, fridge, safe, big tv, iron & trouser press in room. Had a card & little treat as it was my birthday Added bonus had a pool sauna ( really hot amazing) and jacuzzi pool Staff where very friendly The hotel is massive with beautiful decor Parking area was right by the doors to the lift £13 pr 24hrs Didn't see any disabled parking but parking wasn't too far from doors the the lift so not really an issue. Lift to all floors big enough for wheelchair users Can't comment on rooms for disabled access as had a standard twin room. Pool access was till 8pm Gym was 9pm Different times on a wkend Children allowed in pool until 7pm The town is a 5 min walk We had some nice food at the weatherspoons pub just up from primark would definitely recommend there. We had big mix grill was amazing. There is a little cheese shop with an amazing selection of cheese as you walk through the passage way to the town definitely a place to stop and have a try. Did have food but thay do have restaurant and a bar in the hotel and served breakfast at extra cost think it was £13 pp

United KingdomYou can't fault the value for money here but the décor and bathrooms are starting to look a bit tired, that said I would rather have that than them spend millions on a refurb and put the rates up to pay for it. You pays your money and you takes your choice and I will continue to choose this hotel.
I have stayed here many times for several reasons the principle reason being the location, right in the middle of Chester so walkable to everywhere. There is an excellent car park next door and from a value for money perspective it cannot be beaten. No doubt I will stay again soon.
