How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Loved the freedom of space. The most comfortable bed and pillows ever. Ana is the most kind, generous and hospitable hostess.

It is always a personal matter but for me the bed was too soft, I prefer something more firm. Of course Ana cannot cater to everyone's personal preferences and so I would not expect her to do so. My back, my problem!
Ana was very approachable and engaging, she was a joy to talk to. She explained that Chez Ana was her home but we were to feel very comfortable to use all the facilities as we wished. Ana was very knowledgeable about the area and its surroundings in detail.

There wasn't much not to like so I haven't got any complaints!
Ana's place was spacious, clean and modern and I had a very comfortable stay in the king room. I had a good night's sleep, had everything I needed and the location suited me perfectly for the weekend I had in store. Ana was a very personable and attentive host and I got the impression that if I'd have asked for anything she would have found a way to help.

I went here for a friends wedding and we arrived in a rush at first, forgetting to arrange a key to return late that night, so had to wake Ana our hostess. However she was very sweet about it, and a very friendly lady, who was also an artist. We enjoyed meeting her immensely and seeing her fabulous ceramic art. \We really enjoyed the fruit salad/ yogurt breakfast and coffees after the wedding the night before. The house was deceptively spacious, very clean and had everything we needed, like a spare tooth brush/ paste and shampoo, all included. The bed was also really comfortable.

Well designed rooms with everything one needed. Generous access to lounge, TV and dining room. Ana was extremely helpful and welcoming and knowledgeable about the area but wasn’t intrusive.

Happy with everything!
Lovely, clean and modern B&B - perfect for a short stay in Saxmundham with a 15-minute walk or short drive into the town centre. Host Ana was very welcoming and friendly with lots of info regarding where to eat out and how to get there! She provided a substantial gluten-free continental breakfast suitable for my coeliac condition. I was hesitant about booking at first as the only room available had a shared bathroom but this wasn't a problem as there was a toilet/basin downstairs that was also available to guests.

We were only there for one night so had chosen small room. If staying longer would have liked more space, but it was clean and comfortable. Shared bathroom o.k. for us. Others might find it not near enough to centre, but in a quiet cul du sac so that good....suited us as didn't mind walking. Car drivers would find it convenient.
Welcome given. Kindly offered a lift from station, but we were happy to walk and didn't have much luggage. Refreshment provided on arrival. Were advised about eating places for eve meal and shown pleasant short cut. Made to feel at home in Ana's home...good to meet her and we wish her well. Breakfast satisfactory...cereal, toast, fruit, yogurt, tea, coffee on offer...we did not ask about possibility of having anything cooked, but no doubt she would have obliged if needed.

Ana was a very personable host and was able to enhance our stay with her lively personality, good knowledge of the local area and her warm and charismatic personality. Although, only a flying visit, it was a great choice to stay here handily placed for the Suffolk coast, the weather stepped upto the plate too and we enjoyed 2 sunfilled days in Aldeburgh Thorpeness and Dunwich. Ana's home is very clean and she invites you to make yourself at home in her home, the bedrooms were spotless and comfortable and the breakfast was scrumptious.....Ana even made us some blueberry muffins to go with our breakfast and these were quite delicious. Thanks Ana we wouldnt hesitate to recommend your establishment!!

Ana could not have been more helpful and considerate - I had a lovely stay. Not only that but Saxmundham is a brilliant base for the Suffolk coast and Chez Ana was really easy to get to, plus walkable to the high street.
