Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomContinental breakfast which was OK but they ran out of juice which wasn't replaced and the room it was served in was very cramped when there was more than a couple of people in it
Great friendly staff who went over and above when we weren't able to access our room due to a faulty lock.

United KingdomThere was no shelving in bathroom. The shower was tight and a larger person would struggle.
Situated in close proximity to the centre and beach . It was a good price and you got a continental breakfast. There was a fan in the bedroom which I used and tea facilities.

United Kingdom1) Booking.com advert indicated rooms had bath tubs (a big deal for us) we requsted one on the booking and was told we couldn't have one. Why advertise them then? 2) There was breakfast included, but it turned out to be fruit and cereal. 3) The bathroom light didn't work. 4) The advert states "free parking" - there are, in fact, only about 5 spaces - first come, first served basis. We were very lucky to grab one as someone else left. Otherwise, we would have been potentially miles away, on a very busy main road. 5) Cancellation fee. I made the booking and immediately phoned them - was then told no bathtub and no parking. Litterally one after after booking. I decided to cancel it - now 3/4 minutes after booking it - only to discover that cancelling after only a minute of making the booking will cost the whole amount. Hence we were forced to go anyway.
Room was a good size, very clean, not too far from the town centre.

United KingdomYou could hear neighbours in the next room through the walls…but we also had a kid crying next door so if we not I’m sure it would’ve been quiet. Parking on site wasn’t great but there is parking on the street straight outside so it’s not really a problem

United KingdomThe only criticism was that the tv was far too high up. We only watched it when we returned to the hotel after the day at our friends and we were tired and just wanted to relax but really you could get a crick in the neck.
Breakfast was very well presented with a full range of breakfast items. The young lady on duty was only too willing to help and offered to heat croissants if needed. There was everything we needed and knew we could go back and top up.

United KingdomThe stairs so narrow and steep, no accessibility unless you ring and ask specifically for a ground floor room, but I guess that's anywhere you go to be fair. The breakfast wasn't really that great, cereal, toast, scotch pancakes, fruit. Dinner was advertised, but unavailable, but plenty of eateries nearby and you can order food to the hotel which is good as most places are funny buggers about that! One room was spacious, two single beds, with a spacious bathroom, the other was smaller with two single beds, a cramped bathroom but still cosy enough, (not great if you're a bit on the larger side though). The bar downstairs, if you want a proper soft drink you are out of luck, they only serve the really cheap nasty cola and lemonade but at prices for coca-cola or pepsi.
Rooms were cosy with clean linen, towels and a little fridge (not advertised but a pleasant surprise), was actually really quiet for a hotel with a public bar downstairs. The room came with towels, mini shower gels, wardrobe, TV with freesat, hair dryer, desk and mirror, kettle, tea and coffee supplies, mugs, glasses, laminated information sheet with the wifi password on. Despite the stairs, was told they would be able to accommodate our needs if we spoke with them direct and they'd be able to move beds around etc. Unfortunately, they were fully booked so they was unable to wiggle people around, but we know for future reference 😊 Fantastic staff, and service though, Harry was a top fella and super helpful and welcoming. Easy to find and only a ten minute walk from the train station, five minutes and you're on the main high street, close to everything. You can order food to the hotel though. To add, there seemed to be renovations underway but this did not hinder our stay at all.
