Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomLocation is out of the way in a quiet village with a pub next door - what more could you ask for??? The cottage is very spacious with 2 lounge rooms to use. Kitchen is well equipped although we did not cook as we eat at the Shoemakers Arms (Food is Excellent) next door if we were not out exploring. Bedrooms are clean with fresh linen & Towels. Jo the Host is on Hand if you need her. All in all a cottage to relax in!!

United KingdomEverything was perfect.
Location is amazing with wonderful surroundings and privacy. Clean and fresh with a traditional cottage feel. Plenty of space for us and our 4 children and our dog. The river running alongside sounds gorgeous and adds to the stunning environment and character of the building. Towels and linen all spotlessly clean. Host available if needed though left us to it as we wanted. A lovely place to stay to relax and recharge and to get away from it all. The welcome treats of bread, milk, Welsh cakes & Prosecco are a kind and lovely gesture. Our children were happy with the WiFi! We had such a lovely time staying here and would highly recommend to other families.

United KingdomThe cottage was amazing!! Clean, spacious, had everything you needed👍 Pub next door was an added bonus, friendly staff and locals, and kept our son and his friend entertained for the duration of our Easter break. If you're looking for a chilled out break, then this is the place for you and your family. Jo, the host was brilliant and even popped over to see if everything was OK. We're definitely booking this cottage again. Jo, keep the good work going!!!!

United KingdomNothing could have been improved. A little thing that would add interest (if possible) would be some old photos of the cottage from days gone by, it had such a tremendous history somewhere, and would be great to see some of it!
The standard of the cottage exceeded all expectations in cleanliness, standard of fixtures and fittings, and space! Everything about the cottage was welcoming, everywhere clean and tidy. Truly a home from home. The pub next door was an added bonus that serves terrific meals and had a fabulous friendly atmosphere. Jo could not have done more for us to make us feel valued guests. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would really love to visit again in the future. Excellent location for travelling around this wonder part of the country. Thank you again and long may the business prosper.

United KingdomThe outside garden was just perfect for our three dogs, which the enclosed garden was just ideal. The whole of down stairs was tiled, easy to maintain, as we were walking a lot, small utility room to wash your boots, hang up wet coats/ clothes, this enables them to be dry for the morning. Having a stair gate at the bottom of the stairs to prevent the dogs from getting into the bedrooms was a very nice touch. Even though we did not use the wood burner, it was prepared if we needed to use it. Nice size kitchen, two adequately sized front rooms. Basically Cobblers cottage was home from home. We were so impressed we have booked again.

Cobblers Cottage is the most beautiful and cozy cottage we have ever used. The hostess Jo welcomed us with a lovely handwritten letter and a fresh homemade bread. The pub next door and its Host Ryan also gave us a friendly welcome right away. There is good food, tasty beer and friendly residents for a little chat. The setting is very very idyllic, peaceful, a small stream flows around the property, there is nice seating on the property and private parking. The house itself is super equipped, with two living rooms, a huge kitchen with all the equipment you could want, there are 3 toilets, two bathrooms, one with tub and shower! The bedrooms are very cozy and in the beds you have a restful sleep. The cleanliness was exceptional - so here you can just feel good and also spend a longer stay. We will definitely come back here!
