Because the hotel restaurant no longer opens in the evenings it was tricky finding somewhere nice to eat that was dog-friendly. Bedroom was cramped.

    Great central location

There was no restaurant on the site though when originally booked was led to believe ther was. The food in the breakfast buffet was cold on first morning and there were no fried eggs available on the second morning. The lift was out of order. This was disappointing as it was one reason for making the booking.

Room was as good as expected when booked.

Room needed some minor repairs, such as cracked floor tiles, paint work / plaster repairs however nothing major.

    Breakfast was great, good choice.

There is no lift; The room was very poorly lit, and the window in the corner was too small. The breakfast was not very good at all - not very much fruit, and the bacon and cooked food was very fatty 🙁

We liked the bathroom. There was a great bath and shower, and nice toiletries

The car park fee was disgraceful my husband is a blue badge holder and it's very painful for him to walk it cost us £15 to park, hotel parking should be free. This added to our cost so the deal we got cost us £15 more. It would be good if this was mentioned in the offer.

    Nothing

The bed had the best pillows I have slept on plus the comfortable bed meant I slept soundly. The location was great, very close to town, the castle and the train station. Staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel had an air of grandeur without the high prices. All in all well worth it.

We had no tv controllers in either rooms the first night and the young lady on reception when we checked in showed no interest in resolving the issue. The bartender came to our room and showed us how to manually use tv. Second day the receptionist was very helpful and said she would look into it and she personally fixed the problem and let us know it was resolved when she saw us coming in to the hotel. She had dark hair and might be called McKenzie ?? But super helpful unlike the blonde younger receptionist.

    Location and breakfast was excellent

There is a little green led light that stays on when all the other lights are off. I'm not sure why it's there or if there is a way to turn it off. The radiant heater made cracking and popping sounds all night which made it very hard to sleep.

I love the location and the bar is very nice.

Parking fee is ridiculous. This by itself is enough to ensure we do not re-book here. Breakfast was poor. Croissants were not fully cooked with a stodgy middle. Only cooked option was via a hot buffet, which was not very good at all. There was dried-out lorne sausage, haggis and black pudding. Only egg option out was scrambled and this was rubbery. But more disappointing was a lack of warmth and engagement from staff. Everyone seemed somewhat detached and lacking any enthusiasm for the job. The attitude of 'I just work here' seemed to be applicable. Maybe we caught an unfortunate bad day to stay, but we are highly unlikely to give Colessio another opportunity

Convenient location. Room was spacious, bright and clean. Comfortable bed, walk-in shower. Iron and ironing board available in the bedroom. Plenty of plugs and charging locations in bedroom.

Grubby on stairs and some communal areas a bit of a dumping ground, smelled of damp. Bath tepid but shower hot.

Smart lobby, great location, friendly staff. Comfy bed. Quiet room.
