How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Beautiful building and an outstanding room. The College View is on a quiet street and an easy walk into the City centre. Pat is a great host who made us feel welcome. Our room was spotless, clean and fresh with a fantastic designer bathroom. There was a wide range of quality bathroom essentials with good quality tea and coffee. In addition there was fresh milk in the mini fridge. A very comfortable bed with quality bedding. Overall one of the best stays we have had and deserves our top scores.

Great location with short walk to Montpellier for nice restaurant. Clean and modern. Pat (the owner) is an excellent host who provides kind and thoughtful personalized service with attention to detail.

Pat could not have been more friendly and welcoming. The room was comfortable and the bathroom spacious and luxurious. The breakfasts were amazing feasts. We were able to walk to the centre of town for the Jazz festival.

One night stay in Cheltenham. Pat, our hostess greeted us on our arrival and gave us a warm welcome. Bed and bathroom newly furnished & quite luxurious. Thoughtful touches such as complementary g&t, milk, bottled water & chocolate in fridge and port miniatures on tray with tea & coffee. Breakfast downstairs in dining room at time to suit. Big bowls of fruit, yogurt & granola from which to help ourselves followed by smoked salmon, eggs, toast and pastries. Told night before that she would prepare whatever we wanted! Spent a pleasant time chatting to Pat while drinking our coffee.

This is a lovely place to stay, in a quiet part of Cheltenham with top quality furnishings all through the house. The host, Pat, is fantastic and very easy to talk to. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was lovely, fitted out to a very high standard, complimentary drinks and a huge comfy bed. Breakfast was lovely and decent size.

Pat made us so welcome. We couldn’t fault our stay. The location was perfect with only a short walk into town. The breakfast was scrummy, my favourite avocado and poached eggs. Will definitely hope to stay again.

Nothing could have been improved. Will definitely recommend to others and hope to return.
Pat was so kind and welcoming. Went out of her way to ensure that our breakfast was superb! Lots of complimentary items in the fridge- much appreciated. Fabulous shampoos and body washes.It was cold and wet in Cheltenham but our room was so warm and cosy. Great location. A short walk into the centre and an even shorter walk to the railway station which was useful as we’d left our cars at home. Thanks so much Pat.

The room and bathroom were beautiful and extremely generously equipped. There was a minibar with a complementary gin and tonic. Pat provided a delicious breakfast of scramble eggs, smoked salmon and avocado. Everything was of very high quality and thoughtfully arranged. Pat was a very generous and welcoming host.

I can honestly say that there is nothing I can think of that needed improvement
Everything from the greeting we received as we arrived until our final farewell it was by far the best B&B we have ever stayed in and would easily challenge many 5 star hotels. Breakfast cooked to order, a welcome tipple awaiting in the room fridge, every toiletry you might need in the bathroom including new toothbrushes and toothpaste in case you forgot your own, and to send you off at night one of the most luxurious beds (Vispring Shetland - Google it). I did not comment on the WiFi as I didn't get to use it. Well Done Pat it was outstanding.

It exceeded our expectations. A delightful property which was fitted to the highest standards. The large double room was resplendent and included a fridge with complimentary drinks. The host was most welcoming and charming.

Everything from start to finish was just fabulous for my colleagues who stayed at College View. Pat made the boys drinks and cooked them breakfast, they were SO impressed. We will definitely book again and again, this place is just wonderful.

It was all perfect, no complaints at all
Really lovely room in a beautiful and unique building. The host was very welcoming, friendly and happy to accommodate any requests. I'd happily recommend anyone to come stay here if they're looking for something that feels more personal than a hotel - but with a 5-star hotel standard of cleanliness and facilities.

Where do I start … ‘Like’ isn’t really a premiership quality descriptive word that should be used.. however one word should cover it .. what did we like absolutely ‘EVERYTHING’ From the welcome to the departure Pat made us feel so at home and spoilt. The accommodation was beautifully presented with everything you could wish for at your disposal. Including dressing gowns and slippers, the extras and little touches were endless. Exceptional breakfast and hospitality. We will be back 😊
