For some, the roads will be a challenge but this is Dartmouth... narrow roads and little parking. The Compass Rose had parking (tight) and on the street outside.

Lovely home, room was spotlessly clean with good facilities. Great hosts with helpful recommendations. Perfect location for Dartmouth to be able to walk into town. Lovely terrace to sit out on. Terrific breakfasts.

On site parking is tight and you need to be fit to tackle the climb from the town back to the property.

Honestly, I can't think of a thing.

We loved the whole experience. We were very warmly greeted by our charming hosts. The whole house was beautiful and our room warm and delightfully furnished with a large and very cosy bed, a terrace and lovely views across the town to the river Dart and Kingwear beyond. The breakfast was superb, especially the locally sourced poached eggs expertly prepared by our host. It was just a short walk down into Dartmouth and the there's a bus if you don' fancy the.walk back up.

We really enjoyed our stay at Compass Rose. Ann made us very welcome from the outset, and gave us lots of useful information about the Town and the best way to get to it from the Guest House. The room was tidy and comfortable and the views across Dartmouth were great. It's a nice walk into Town and doesn't take long. It's a little steep in places but we were fine with it and it was nice to have a bit of a workout after our meals :) The breakfasts were very nice and there was plenty of choice. We would definitely recommend it and stay here again if we're in the area.

Fantastic breakfast- lots of choice Comfortable bed with excellent pillows ( I’m quite picky about number and firmness of pillows) Gorgeous veranda which is covered so we used it even in the rain. Ann is a font of knowledge on where to visit and eat. Unbelievable views of Dartmouth from veranda.

Some of the steeper hills! Seriously, though, there was nothing at all not to like.

What a fabulous place - amazing location with views across the town and river, with the most welcoming and friendly hosts - who not only gave us loads of information, including a list of places to eat beforehand so we could make reservations in advance, but even let me borrow a coat as I had completely forgotten to pack mine! Our room was perfect, very comfortable with a lovely en suite and terrace. The cooked breakfasts were also delicious, with plenty of coffee, toast and jam.

Overall, we loved our stay. Just a steep walk back after you have been in town. There is public transport which would drop you off at the end of the road.

The bedroom was spacious. Nice decking area, which gives amazing views over Dartmouth. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was very good. The hosts could not have been more accommodating.

It’s difficult to criticise such a lovely stay, but our room was too warm - we managed to overcome this problem by keeping the patio doors open to let in the cooling Dartmouth breeze.

Wonderful stay. The room was large with the most spectacular view of Dartmouth and our very own patio garden Comfortable king size bed. Our breakfasts were very good with locally sourced produce and the most delicious eggs. Good coffee too and plenty of it. Couldn’t fault it.
