Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe nervousness of Scotland's second half collapse against Wales at the rugby before finally edging it out by a point was unnecessary:p
The view captured our booking and we weren't disappointed. Roger and Sally were the perfect hosts and made Molly, Mum (Kim), and me most welcome in what has since become an even more special weekend than Kim's birthday was meant to be. Sadly, we lost our wee superhero Molly a few days ago. She was our Irish Lab/Collie and at aged 12 & 1/2 was our wee old Lady. Roger and Sally made what has turned out to be our last family weekend together more special. Not only were they fantastic hosts, but they also gave us great recommendations of where to visit and eat. The food was fantastic, and they remembered Molly's scrambled eggs for breakfast and threw in a sausage, which was devoured.

United StatesLoved everything!!
Roger and Sally took such wonderful care of us. Roger was full of useful tips about the area, and gave excellent advice about routes to take, sights to see, and history of the islands visible from the deck and the rooms. The breakfasts and dinner that Sally prepared were simply superb – particularly the croissants, haggis and black pudding (from the local butcher). She also happily prepared delicious vegetarian options for two members of our party. Each room is beautifully decorated, and very comfortable (with American-sized King beds and beautifully appointed bathrooms). The tea service, French press, and shortbread laid out in the rooms felt really welcoming. The rooms have wonderful sea views, and the deck and hot tub have a spectacular 270 degree panorama of the islands off the coast. The parlour and dining room were perfect places to take in the sights with our family when evening set in. We were traveling with two children, and Roger and Sally went above and beyond in making sure that both kids were well taken care of. Corrie House is about thirty minutes south of Oban, which is a charming seaside town with very friendly locals. The Lord of the Isles pub, which is a short walk from Corrie House, is wonderful as well. Roger made sure to reserve us a table the night we arrived – and made sure the lights were on and the kitchen open when we reached much later than expected. It’s well worth the drive to get there, and our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer!

United StatesLoved everything about Corrie House.
Excellent view, beautiful, elegant and comfortable room, superb common areas including a hot tub, tasty and exceptional food, and very nice hosts. My wife and I enjoyed our three night stay tremendously and if you are there when dinner is being offered be sure to do so. Sally is an exceptional chef. Roger is great as well and very knowledgeable of the area. Highly recommended!

United KingdomI would have liked the room to be made up every day, automatically, instead of having to request it, although we were informed that this was a hangover from COVID. A little more leeway in how much notice is needed to be given for an evening meal, would be good, as 3 days is quite a long time.
The location was beautiful. We had dual aspect windows in our room, with views across the water to a few islands. The bed and room were very comfortable and furnishings to a high standard. Breakfast was superb, with very good ingredients. Roger and Sally were very accommodating, and made us very welcome, including our dog Floss.

Friendly and obliging hosts; superb quiet location with amazing views; extremely comfortable room. We chose this hotel mainly based on location as we needed a stopover on our journey from the Outer to the Southern Hebrides, and were so impressed we wished we'd been able to stay longer!
