What a little gem!! Perfect location for Stansted. The hotel totally exceeded our expectations. The food in the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast was great.

One of the lights didn’t work above the main mirror, poor lighting to do makeup. The windows for security I presume only opened about one inch although a fan was provided in the summer without any air conditioning the rooms I’m sure would be too warm, although when we stayed in May it was acceptable

Rooms were comfortable and nicely decorated and quiet. The breakfast was conveniently served at the pub next door

The car park was very busy when we arrived and we struggled to find a space. Also no-one was in Reception when we arrived and we had to wait 10 mins to check in. The bar was under staffed and we had to wait in a queue for 15 mins to be served.

The room was very nice and the staff were very welcoming in both the hotel and the restaurant and bar. The food was also very good. The staff was also very helpful when we left something behind and held it for us to collect a couple of days later, for which we were very grateful.

Breakfast finished at 9am which was a bit inconvenient for us. There was also some miscommunication between the bar and the hotel parts of the business which became a little confusing when paying the bill.

The room was an ideal size for our needs and the staff were really hospitable.

Just a little more care required in the maintenance of the hotel. Wallpaper is peeling in spots on the staircase.

Breakfast was not quite up to the standard of the rest of our stay - would have preferred a bigger, better quality breakfast buffet selection rather than the cooked to order hot food. The food and the service were OK, nothing to complain about, but just not at the same level as the accommodation and dinner.

We had been warned by our local friends to expect the worst, based on experiences in the past, but they were very wrong:, the Green Man was a really pleasant surprise. It has been fully renovated, and the decor is fresh and welcoming. The staff were very helpful and warm, and really made us feel at home. Our dinner in the restaurant also exceeded expectations. It was fairly standard pub food but well-prepared, plenty of choice for those in our group with food allergies, and all served with a smile.

The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our needs for my mother inlaw who has dementia and we needed rooms close to each other and at short booking notice they were very helpful 😀

The somewhat labyrinthine building can make it hard to find your way back to your room at night, when there's no one to ask. The signage could be better, but this is a very minor quibble.

Excellent value, with helpful, friendly staff, a very good restaurant with an imaginative wine list and range of local beers. My room was very comfortable and the large garden invites a relaxing stroll.

The lighting in the room was poor. I found it hard to do my makeup. We booked a table at the restaurant, didn't think they had enough staff.
