The lighting in the room was far too dark not good for doing your make up!! there is never enough sugar or tea bags in the room. and at breakfast it clearly stated that you get 2 sausages and 2 rashers of bacon!! we only got 1 I had to ask for the missing Items which when you've paid extra you would expect it to be on par!

The room we had was very clean and comfortable No 102 on the first floor with just a shower which we had asked for!

I definitely found a bed bug on the bed - albeit dead, it did make me uncomfortable. I was too tired to complain and I went to bed. No repercussions at all - but just made me feel uncomfortable.

Breakfast was good but kitchen closed early one morning and I wasn’t offered any compensation for lack of breakfast. Room was clean, comfortable and nicely decorated . Most staff very friendly and helpful

The main part of the hotel is an old charming building. The rooms in a separate wing are well equipped and comfortable The staff are memorable, particularly Emily on Reception

The property was really well located and had clearly been recently renovated so everything was very clean and new. I hadn’t been to the Harlow area before but there’s a huge retail park with plenty of shops and restaurants, plus it was super easy and cheap to get into and out of London on the train as well - we will be back! A special nod to the staff who kindly let us have a slightly later check out as well, which was really appreciated.

I ordered my takeaway but there was no one at the reception so the uber driver left my meal and I couldn't found it when I went downstairs, the uber driver sent a picture that he left my meal by the door side because there was no one at the reception

This time weather cooler so although rooms warm more manageable this time

I was not a100 % last time I stayed but due to location decided to come back the check in staff were great very friendly and the manager more courteous this time ! The restaurant was much better and waiting staff responsive and organised I am only sorry when I bought some international guest last time this was not the experience

Lighting! Very ambient but no bright options so not suitable for applying makeup or shaving! One bright light by a mirror would suffice. We were going to a wedding and it was as well that the bride wasn't having her make-up done there! No shaving point. No safe. Water bottles would be a great addition. No face cloths. Shower head didn't work but we were OK with the drencher so didn't report it.

Breakfast was very good. Two of the party were late for breakfast one day but the staff accommodated them (although they were charged again - presumably this was a mistake). Soundproof rooms. Comfortable beds. Fan, iron, ironing board. USB ports. Faulty shower (minimal heat/pressure) was attended to promptly without fuss. TV good size for the room.

Room was rather dark with low level lighting. Would like the option to turn the lighting level up as it was difficult to read a book and working from a laptop was impossible.

Common problem with British pubs is no fridge in the room, but staff were very helpful storing our prescription drugs in the bar fridge. Another common issue is a bath with the shower over it, makes it difficult to get in and out and poor shower screens that make it easy to get water over the floor. But these issues seem to be pub industry standard, not unique to this pub.

Lovely country style well decorated old pub. Loads of separate indoor and outdoor areas, worth a visit just to see the interior decorations, loads of surprises. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Excellent quiet location and ground floor rooms for easy access. Nice food in the restaurant that seemed to be popular with locals and good value breakfast (for UK price) at 10GBP for all you can eat continental and freshly cooked to order hot breakfast, which included a variety of options (not just English). Best coffee by far anywhere in the UK (even though it is still from a push button machine). Off the beaten tourist track, not many places to go (eg. museum is only open some days of the week etc), so not crowded, and a nice place to stroll around to look at houses parks etc.. or just chill out.
