Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Such a beautiful garden. Extremely well kept, clean and tidy. So simple yet so well thought out with little extras like spare toiletries, umbrellas, dressing gowns etc. Canteen area with a fridge to keep anything you have cool.

United KingdomLots of mosquitoes so take spray with you - obviously this isn’t the property’s fault!
The owners were lovely and couldn’t do enough for us. The property was spotless and really comfy. It was very peaceful. It is in an ideal location to visit the surrounding area from, only half an hour from Dover castle and a couple of minutes by car or bus from Margate centre. Is on a direct bus route.

United KingdomThis place was like a home from home. Very comfortable with attention to detail to make a stay an absolute joy. Julie and John went above and beyond to make our stay extra special. From a warm welcome to a fond farewell this stay warmed our cockles.fantastic location set in a lovely leafy quiet neighbourhood with great local shops just 10 mins walk and local beach just down the road. Buses every 10 mins until late into Margate but only a 30mins stroll. The garden was superb, absolutely beautiful and huge with lots of different zones to enjoy. The sound of the ponds made for tranquil vibe and felt soothing. The facilities were on point with a well equipped kitchen and a comfortable sitting room cabin. Everything was spotlessly clean in fantastic condition. The bathroom was lovely with a large shower big enough to two people to share and the added bonus of an attached walk-in wardrobe.. John gave us a lift into town when we went to see a concert at Dreamland which was very kind. We were treated with a lot of kindness and felt cared for with the little added touches. We didn’t use the pool as the weather was a tad hit and miss but it looked fantastic and well kept. We would thoroughly recommend a stay here and we look forward hopefully staying again in the future.

GermanyNothing really.
A big Thank You to Julie and John! Julie and John are wonderful hosts. They are friendly, more than helpful and superkind. The cosy cabins are set in a beautiful garden and they are equipped with everything you could possibly need. In the main-cabin, there's a comfortable double bed and a bathroom with a large shower. The living-room cabin has a seating area and in the kitchen-cabin you'll find a fridge (with milk and water), coffee-/Tee- and cooking facilities. Everything is clean and lovely. There are also seating-areas outside and a nice pool (we sadly couldn't use due to the chill weather). The area is quiet and a little out of town, but there's a bus at the end of the road, that goes every few minutes. Walking into Margate takes about 30 minutes.

United KingdomThe cabin is a great base for exploring the Thanet area as it is quite central, but about a 30 min walk to Margate town centre.
Lovely friendly hosts who responded quickly. Cabin 1 with bed and separate shower/toilet was cosy and welcoming. Cabin 2 with sofa and cd player was a great addition and cabin 3 with little kitchen was very handy. There is also a very large patio area with loungers, table and chairs for you to relax in. A lovely suntrap in the afternoon and early evening....a real bonus when the weather is good!

United KingdomThe cabin was comfortable and having access to two extra cabins, one a sort of sitting room cabin and one a kitchen cabin, was a bonus. John and Julie thoughtfully provided milk, marmalade and butter so we just bought a loaf of bread and breakfast was sorted. We walked from the station, which took about half an hour, as we only had a small amount of luggage but the Margate and Broadstairs loop bus stopped nearby. It seemed like a very regular bus service. The garden was lovely and very peaceful. John and Julie were very friendly without being intrusive.

United KingdomThere is not one thing I can think of.
Quiet, high quality, very comfortable and relaxing with an amazing seating area in the garden. Located in a lovely area, far enough out from the main beach front but within easy walking distance of the beaches and town. Julie and John are very friendly and chatty as well as being knowledgeable about places to visit. Julie kindly supplied me with plasters as I had forgot to bring some, most hosts would point you to the nearest shop. I can not recommend Cosy Cottage enough, you will have a lovely stay.

Perfect spot, I had no car, but 3 bus routes drop you close by in 10 mins from town Huge amount of space next to the cabin, the small swimming pool was lovely, all to myself! Great cooking facilities and the en suite shower better than mine at home! Very clean throughout Julie & John were very hospitable and friendly. Cosy cabin has to be one of the best places I have stayed at ever. The photos don't prepare you for how lovely it is. We went to Margate to see Tom Grennan, the concert was brilliant but the highlight of the whole weekend was Cosy Cabin. Julie & John were perfect hosts, there when we needed them & Julie even gave us a lift. We had planned to go out for the day on the Sunday after the concert but ended up buying some books & laying in the sun on the sun-loungers & having multiple dips in the pool. We relaxed & read books something we haven't done in a very long time !!! Julie & John you have created an amazing place to stay & in everything we could see how hard you have worked! Thank you so much xx Ashleigh & Matt xx

United KingdomWhat’s not to like?! John and Julie have transformed their massive garden into a tranquil, welcoming haven. It has a Mediterranean vibe to it with various cabins positioned in distinct areas of the garden. The sleeping cabin is very comfortable and finished beautifully. The decor is refreshingly unique which reflects their creativity and the loving attention they have invested into making this space. The dressing gowns and bathroom products are a nice touch. In front of the cabin, and between the main house and the cabin, is a small (8m?) pool which is kept very clean and is also heated! It was very welcoming after a very hot couple of days! Behind this cabin, and down a pebble and wooden slat laid path, surrounded by John’s horticultural displays of varying produce, is a bridge across a zen-like pond which leads to another cabin, which you could call a ‘lounge’ style cabin. With conservatory style furniture and a sound system, it makes for an ideal chill out space after a day sightseeing. From here you cross a well-finished patio area to the rear of the lounge cabin to find a very well equipped kitchenette cabin. It doesn’t have an oven, but it does have a kettle, hot plates, microwave, fridge and endless cutlery and crockery. My only suggestion to improve this space would be to provide a tray! It’s a fair distance back to the seating area next to the cabin to carry individual plates and cups etc so having a couple of trays would be a great help. All in all, it is a super impressive set-up and John and Julie are very accommodating. Highly recommended. It is also ideally situated to explore Broadstairs (gorgeous), Margate (wouldn’t visit more than once) and Ramsgate (the harbour area is pleasant). Useful to have a car but there is a bus stop on the same road where you can pay a day rate so you can hop on and off where you like.
