Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe double bed mattress is springs and you can feel them digging into you. The blind in the double room hangs above your head and lets in a strip of light, but it right on your eye line. Two small changes and you’ve nailed it as it’s a brilliant place to stay and has a lovely home feel to it.
Great location, lovely views, all the facilities would could need. Home from home feeling, lovely decor, feels secure and great to be able to bring our dog with us. Great communication too.

United KingdomThe road to access is very steep which whilst isn't unknown in Wales, was steeper than expected/experienced before. Obviously that can't be helped, however I think upon providing access information, this should be shared for those who may be a nervous driver like myself.
The cottage was well furnished and clean upon arrival. A very cosy place to stay for our short visit. Views were amazing, however the weather wasn't great unfortunately so we couldn't appreciate as much as we would have liked. Lovely place for our family and a convenient shop literally 10 steps away.

United KingdomDue to the wet weather a "Runner" mat would have been appreciated in the kitchen to help with wiping wet shoes. Also a small mat at the patio door. Also an extractor fan in the bathroom would help as it gets very steamy, even with the window open (tricky to access if you are vertically challenged)
A delightful cottage, clean, fresh and lovely big towels. Kitchen had everything you needed. a very relaxing break.

United KingdomWe loved everything about the cottage. Only thing we struggled with was finding the place as it is tucked away down an alley. Luckily some locals pointed us in the right direction.
The cottage had everything you needed for a fab stay. Even had plastic plates and cups for my toddler. I would recommend this place to anyone. Very good value for money.

Gorgeous views overlooking the hills and a really nice decked area with seating and table. Lovely decor inside. Felt very cosy. The bed and pillows were really comfortable. The cottage is in a great location, very quiet and a 15 minute walk to the ironworks where we had an event.

United Kingdom- The bunk beds mattress were a bit on the soft side, and we weren’t sure what the weight limit of it was so was a bit concerned if it was safe for a 85kg adult. - shower pressure varied, at times it was good and other times it was quite low - carbon monoxide alarm in bunk bed room was located a foot below the ceiling - enough seating for 4 people, may be a bit limited if you had 6 people stay. - sadly not enough tea for our 2 day stay (nothing major but would have bought some if we realised there wasn’t much!)
- Great money for value - Location was very convenient for our outdoor activities at Brecon Beacons. - Very spacious downstairs, you don’t feel crowded in it. - Dog friendly and very easy for dogs as there was an outdoor bit. - The bathroom light was acting up a bit (nothing major) and host replied to our message within 15min and offered to change the bulb the next day (it didn’t bother us too much so we declined). - TV had several streaming service app already downloaded - some you had to use your login others already logged in!

United KingdomThere wasn't anything we didn't like. For people with mobility problems the steps from the road were particularly steep but only 3 .....I think maybe 4 can't remember. I didn't attempt the steps, at the back, down to the garden. Didn't need to....the view from the balcony was so stunning!
We love old cottages, the people in Wales and the area, especially Blaenavon. Spectacular view across the valley from the cottage, so atmospheric. The corner shop a very short distance, literally one minute walk, which opened early and closed late. Aimee, the host, is very attentive and helpful when necessary. The cottage had everything we needed, practical and comfortable. Quiet. Cottage modernised to a high standard. It was just great!

AustraliaThe water pressure in the shower was average. It is an old miners cottage and as such the stairs are quite steep. This may be an issue for those with knee problems. You will need to bring your own coffee, tea and sugar.
The outdoor setting with lovely views. The kitchen facilities were great. It was nice to have a large TV with plenty of channel selection and the internet speed was very good.

United KingdomI think it needs a deep clean in the property. It did smell like dog when we arrived. Unfortunately, the Mountain View’s were not actually that visible as the trees are so overgrown you can’t see past them. I felt a little cramped in the property. The area is not the nicest if I’m honest. I have stayed in wales a lot, in some amazing locations, unfortunately this was not for me.
The location is great for exploring the area. Good size rooms and the host was very helpful. Really handy having the shop just next door. People here are so helpful and friendly. The lion pub has great food.
