Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesOverall we enjoyed our stay so the following items are mostly observations rather than criticisms. It's a short walk from reception to our room, so please dress accordingly for the weather. The bed in our room was a bit firm (which could cause some issues to others) but fortunately I did not wake up with backache and I slept well. The on-site breakfast buffet was great on the first day. On the second day of our stay there was a full english breakfast offered but not via the buffet. It is important to visit the hotel website to obtain instructions on accessing the accommodation otherwise it could be difficult to find (especially in the dark). The hotel access is not via the main castle entrance but is via a BroomField Road. Pass through the towers and stop at the entry gate. Security will answer via the intercom and let you (I assume provided that you have pre-booked). Once you are checked in reception will give you a transmitter to open the barrier without contacting security. That worked well!!
Staying at the castle stables was excellent. We were able to see the castle and gardens early in the morning before the general public arrived and the room price included access to the castle during normal opening times. The choices at breakfast (also included in room price) were very good and included vegetarian options (such as avocado toast). We booked a disabled room by mistake but it turned out to be spacious and easily accessible via a short ramp (useful if you struggle to transport cases up stairs). Reception staff were very friendly. There were tea and coffee making facilities in the room.

IrelandIt is superb to stay right on site and enjoy the beautiful castle in daylight, dusk and nigh time. Dinner in the Castle View Restaurant was very good, nice to be able to walk across the yard to our bedroom and not have to drive anywhere. The Castle was decorated as Narnia for Xmas and very much enjoyed by us.

United KingdomThe hot water wasn't hot enough for me.-.bath only running the hot was an insufficient temperature to my liking - fine for my daughter though! Noise from air in pipes woke me when a fellow guest flushed the loo at 3am! The postcode given did not take one to the right entrance. Arriving in the dark, this complicated things. It is the first right after a pub..
The location obviously is outstanding. It was an absolute pleasure to wake up, see the view and then see the castle for the first time at breakfast..The breakfast, not only has the most amazing castle view, but was delicious! I ordered Eggs Royale - my favorite! That it includes entry to the castle makes the stay good value. In winter however the falconry display is only at weekends and school holidays, so we want to go back!

United StatesWhat a lovely property set on the beautiful grounds of Leeds Castle! Our room was in the smaller side for two people or I’d rate the facilities a “ten.” Very clean, very nice breakfast and delightful delightful staff!! Sadly, our flight for London left too early for us to walk through the castle. I’d definitely recommend and stay at this lovely place again. Don’t miss walking though the garden!

AustraliaIt was a little bit of a climb to the top floor with our heavy suitcases, but the charm of the place made up for the heavy lift.
An incredible location on the heart of Leeds castle grounds. It felt magical to arrive to the property. The view of the castle and grounds as you arrive is breathtaking. The rooms are super quaint and have all you require for your stay. the staff were really lovely and helpful and you have a tour of the castle included in your stay. This is very well worth doing. We loved exploring the grounds and the castle rich with history. Breakfast was really generous and the views the the castle from the main restaurant are simply spectacular.
