Didn’t like the tip already on the bar prices and thought the breakfast was expensive , we had single beds that smelt a little damp and we’re not comfortable

Asked what time my arrival was and was notified that it was received and my room was ready but wouldve had to pay £20 early access fee - seems unreasonable when you know we are arriving early?

Only one till in the eating/bar area pro rota for the amount of guests, took a very long time to be served. Must be so frustrating for the staff, it certainly was for the customers. 10% service charged on drinks as well as food wasn’t appreciated as there was such a long wait even just for drinks. Need to add another till so that bar staff can do their job efficiently instead of having to apologise to each and every customer because they had to wait so long to order and be served. We ordered a bottle of wine and two glasses. We were waiting for 25 minutes in all to be asked what we would like, then the lady couldn’t take our money because another staff member was using the till for a large table order. Eventually when she could accept payment, it then took another 5minutes for someone to find an ice bucket and two clean glasses. This is unacceptable from both the guest and staff point of view. We asked for the 10% service charge to be removed!

My only complaint (as with all Holiday Inns) is the pillows - they don't seem particularly new and of a good standard. This is a shame as it lets down the overall good quality of the Inns. It's a small, but fairly important, detail and very simple to get right. Please review the standard of your pillows, Holiday Inn.

Having stayed at Holiday Inns before, we knew what to expect, and this one was as good as the others - we were particularly pleased that we could park our car for free! The breakfast was excellent and the hotel was smart with attentive staff and a welcoming atmosphere.

One of our rooms hadn’t been cleaned properly. Bin full and carpet needed hoovering. All taken care of once we flagged it up.

Good size room with all facilities including really great bathroom and shower. The buffet was extensive with lots of choice for breakfast. We had an evening meal and the quality was excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Hotel has ground floor and first floor levels. There is no lift to go up the first floor. You may need to walk a little longer if your room is located far away from the hotel entrance. So, put in a request if you are booking for the elderly or family with a baby.

Standard Double room was spacious with a double bed and a comfortable two seater sofa (can be converted to single bed). Room had air-conditioning. It had all the facilities including a safe, iron machine, iron table, bath robes, proper wardrobe. There is no fridge in the room, but if you request reception to keep any refrigerated medicine in their fridge, they will do it. Breakfast was very good and well balanced. Kitchen staff can make some customised breakfast upon request. Hotel has a bar and a very comfortable Lounge seating area. There is also a Gym. All the staff were very kind and very helpful. Outdoor area was very nice. Very good space for car parking. There is a fuel station very nearby to the hotel.

The staff that were there were amazing but they seemed short staffed and one member of staff was often split between the food, bar and covering reception. They did this very well but you did feel sorry for the staff having to rush around and try to please everyone.

The accommodation seemed newly renovated. It was modern and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. They were clear on what we needed to do and we’re available if we had any questions or requests. Staff went above and beyond to meet guests needs such as getting the alcohol one guest requested or providing snacks for when people arrived late at night and the kitchen was closed.
