Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOn the minus side, two things spoiled my experience, though neither was the proprietors' fault. One was the very unpleasant heatwave continuing throughout my stay: my room caught the full afternoon sun, and didn't cool down adequately until well into the night. The other was the disturbance caused when two teenage guests invited company, attempted to pass their time with drink and cannabis and bolted the proprietors out of the building. However, such risks always exist when neither the proprietors nor any other staff live or work fulltime on the premises. Also on the minus side: the area where the accommodation stands appears extremely run-down; there is no signage enabling it to be identified as guest accommodation; and on nights when (as during my stay) windows have to be left open because of the heat, the noise from traffic is appalling. My room overlooked the street and it sounded as though articulated lorries were running up and down it all night. Lastly, the appearance of the kitchen is slightly misleading, since it contains a cooker, buit neither the hob nor the oven work and there are no pots or pans.
On the plus side, this was the best value stay offered for my dates on booking.com. The accommodation was just round the corner from the venue of the conference I was attending. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the bed very comfortable. The bathroom was amazing. The proprietors - whom I met during the stay - were really charming people. The provision of fruit, yogurt, cereal, bread and crisps was lavish.

CroatiaWe didn't like how awfully quiet and uncomfortable the stay was, the doors don't close the whole way and if you don't bring your key everywhere you will be locked out of your room. The WORST thing was that in the morning someone was obnoxiously knocking on the door and screaming for us to open the door of the whole house (which was very frightening because of the state of the whole neighborhood) and we answered that we can't open because we don't live there. In the end the person managed to come in and started screaming and throwing things around and attacking us for not opening the door because it was the home owner (she didn't present herself as such at the door). She was very moody and not friendly at all. That encounter made us pack our bags immediately and leaving, we didn't want to stay a minute longer with such a person in the house. There was another man who picked up the phone for the check in the first day and he sounded really friendly and nice.
It was easy to get in and the toilets and kitchen were really clean with enough snacks and things we didn't expect. There were 2 bathrooms so it was a little congested in the morning because the place was probably full, but thats ok, just wake up a few minutes earlier (both bathrooms were very clean). The room was small and enough for our stay, the only problem was we couldn't charge our electronics because there were only 2 working outlets.

RussiaI recently booked a two-night stay at COZY PLACE LIVERPOOL, but unfortunately, the experience was far from cozy. Upon arrival, there were no clear signs indicating the entrance to the BnB. The door was closed, and our attempts to reach someone through the doorbell were unsuccessful. After two phone calls, the owner, who was out shopping, finally provided us with the key box code. The location itself was disappointing. It's positioned on the very edge of what Booking.com considers "city center," making it quite a stretch from the historical city center. The issues didn't end there. We were directed to find the WiFi password in the kitchen, but it was scribbled illegibly, rendering us unable to access the promised free WiFi. The room, "Budget Double Room," was located on the top floor and had a slanted roof which reduced the room's height significantly on one side. A low-hanging bar in the room was a safety hazard, especially for taller individuals like myself. I injured my head multiple times due to this. Additionally, a small roof window that didn't shut properly exacerbated our discomfort by letting in all the street noise. The promised "wonderful breakfast" was a mere basket of fruits with no staff present to assist. When I reached out to the owner about the room's issues, hoping for a solution, I was met with hostility. Instead of addressing our concerns, he angrily insisted we leave if we weren't satisfied. His aggressive demeanor escalated to the point where he demanded we leave immediately. Despite booking for two nights, we were forced out after just one night without any refund. Even after reaching out to customer support, our concerns were not adequately addressed. I genuinely hoped for a peaceful stay, but this experience was distressing and far from what one would expect from a reputed booking platform. I advise potential guests to reconsider before booking here.

EstoniaThere were no directions given how to get into the building. At the beginning property didn’t even answer our messages or phone calls, which is quite unpleasant if you have to pay for them. Next, the wifi password written in the kitchen was unreadable so we had to call the property to send us that in our messages. That took time. Moreover, I found a cockroach and a moth in my bed…. And last but not least, the TV that was promised to us didn’t work.
The breakfast system - u could take anything from the fridge, such as yogurt, jam, butter, bottled water, orange juice, milk. Also, (white) bread, different fruits, chips, cereal from the counter. In addition, the bed and pillows were comfortable, bathroom was big and with a great lighting. Cleaning lady was super nice!

United KingdomThe shared bathroom was a worry for me, and actually, unfortunately there were a couple of guests who were quite selfish and didn’t leave it particularly clean. However, a quick message to Dave and within two minutes, Paul and Julie had turned up to thoroughly clean the bathroom again and to make sure we were okay. Sometimes things have to go wrong to see how well a business deal with it and these guys were just amazing.
The location was amazing. The accommodation was immaculate and really beautifully done- the bed was huge and I had a brilliant nights sleep .. everything was new and stylish - I was initially anxious about sharing a bathroom, but everything was spacious and beautifully cleaned.. We also loved the team who run the place and we will definitely be back.

ChileMy experience at cozy place Liverpool was outstanding. We had some issues on the way there and the owner Paul assisted us at as much at possible. Tghe facilities were clean and comfortoble, the breakfast exceeded our expectations and the staff was very approachable, friendly and very keen to make our stay as pleased as possible. We are very grateful with Paul and Dave for their help during our stay and if I ever have to come back to Livepool again, I wouldn't need to look for an accommodation to stay because COZY place is definitely the place to stay :)

Wonderful and kind hosts turned this last-minute booking and multi-city twork trip into a rather relaxing experience. Adaptors were found and even a quick lift to the nearby uni was offered when I was leaving in a hurry with a lot of suitcases.

GermanyAbsolutely nothing. This property is as good as a hotel/residence can get.
Everything about this place was superlative. The room very spacious, flooded with natural light, tastefully decorated and sufficiently furnished. The place was immaculately clean, and well maintained. The kitchen well stocked, breakfast generous and location perfect. The bathroom was almost as big as my room - very clean, well aerated and lots of natural light. I couldnt have asked for a better combination in Liverpool or elsewhere. A definite address I will stay at everytime in Liverpool. P.S.: The best part of the stay was my interaction with the owner/property manager - David. Very courteous, accommodating and an absolute pleasure to have as a host. Thank you David - Look forward to see you again

United KingdomThere was nothing my friend and I disliked, however perhaps adding a name sign to the outside of the property for customers ease of finding it and also to highlight how fabulous this place is ✨
Where do I start? This place was AMAZING! My friend and I stayed in room 5 which was super modern, clean and cosy in a superb location just walking distance from the city centre and 10/15 minutes walk from Liverpool Central / Lime Street station. Both bathrooms were fab & towels & breakfast were well provided. The best part of our stay was our friendly welcome from Paul who went above and beyond to have us enjoy our stay, he also dealt so professional and efficiently when I forgotten something on my departure and make contact with another friend to ensure I retrieved them. My friend and I can’t rate this place enough, an absolute hidden gem to which we will defiantly return to! Thanks a million ☺️🙌
