arrived on Friday about 3.30pm as we were booking in we were told there was no restaurant or bar facilities as the hotel was closing on Sunday and the staff had only been told on Thursday

Room never cleaned nor facilities replaced. Stairs up to Room never hoovered in 3 days we were there. No bar or evening meals. Oh and the hotels now closed to the public as it's being used for asylum seekers.

The bar was closed which was disappointing, but the staff explained why it was closed which was fine. I wasn't aware of any breakfast arrangements but again, the hotel was closing after the weekend so possibly this was no longer an option when we stayed.

Having access to the pool and gym was a nice bonus, the bed and pillows were really good which I normally find an issue in most hotels (either too firm or feather pillows). It's only a 1 mile walk into Elgin centre, well positioned. The reception area looked lovely too.

The fact we stayed herr on many occasions with our dog never being charged for this, altho stayed a few months before, on drparture waa chardged £40 for fog for 2 nights £20 each night, my dog is a cockapoo does not cast, and thd general cleanlineess in toom was very disapointing as the carpets were filthy, my dogs paws were cleaner than the rooms very disapointed

due to a conference with about 25-30 folk they did not serve evening meals ,which was very frustrating for iwould think all other guests. I presume they knew in at advance of the conference so why not have extra staff on, also they closed the bar to all will conference guests where having THEIR dinner which is totally inconsiderate of all other paying guests,

Bedrooms, corridors and actual rooms very old and dated. Suites advertised as having widescreen tv's. Our Suite had two 20" Ttv's. Not widescreen. Decor old. Bathrooms old

The duvet was far too small for the bed and sheets and the mattress was very hard. The staff were lovely but it seemed like there wasn’t enough of them as we had to wait quite a while for service.

Great location and room size was good. Restaurant and bar area was lovely. Shower was a really good power. Staff very friendly.

The slowness and forgetfulness of the serving staff. The shower pressure was poor along with the temperature control plus the length of the shower pipe made it difficult to shower as it was too short.

we were woken up very early in the morning on both mornings to the sound of someone hoovering! 'First time 04.40 second time 05.30 but it woke me up and I was unable to go back to sleep. I did not report the first morning as thought it may have been a one off but I reported it to receptionist on checking out to make them aware. We were in the first room on the first floor so it was loud. It was apparently the night porter hoovering the reception areas. whilst I appreciate cleaning standards need to be maintained, guest comfort is also important especially a good nights sleep. We accepted we would hear people moving around early morning for breakfast which starts from 7am but do not expect to be woken up so early to sound of hoovering. I reported it to prevent this for other customers, especially as we had a 7 hour journey home and a good nights sleep was needed. The pool was unavailable which would have been nice to have the option to use.

Check in was very straightforward. Staff very welcoming and polite. Breakfast was lovely and staff attentive. The room was nice and clean and complimentary toiletries nice to have. The tea and coffee making facilities were very good. Staff gave us replenishment of milk on request on our second morning very promptly. The bar area was pleasant to be able to sit and have a cup of tea.

The dinner and breakfast were excellent. the communal spaces are very well presented the staff was friendly and professional. The only downside was the room. It was above the kitchen and there was a fan going all evening and the walls were so thin I could hear people talking until the early hours in the next rooms. I really like the hotel and the hotel group from what I have learned. I would happily pay a little more for a better room if there was better sound insulation and comfort. The earplugs were used which was a saving grace. I would come back for everything apart from the bedroom.

no lifts but fortunately the lassie at reception helped me by carrying my big case up the stairs. I have artificial hip and knee. I had booked the hotel so I could use the pool but was told it was closed. The kitchen was only open for breakfast so we had to go out for dinner.
