Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SingaporeThe squeaky floorboards. I was in the downstairs room and the floorboards were very loud if the people above were moving around.
The house was very clean. We were the first guests so everything was new. Landlady was very nice and friendly. She even brought us cornflakes and oats for breakfast which I didn't partake. Location was good , about a mile downhill into town and there are frequent buses if you choose not to walk. Iceland and Co-Op were also across the road and there were various takeaways around. I walked to and fro town over several days. I was warned by a cab driver not to late at night but as a female solo traveller, I did not meet any trouble at all.

United StatesEverything was amazing!
Location is amazing!! Within walking distance of the city Centre (about 20 min) and there's a bus stop right by the townhouse so easy to catch one of those as well. The room was SO clean and the bed SO comfy!! The whole townhouse was pristine, including all the bathrooms! I would definitely stay again. Just a heads up, the town house itself is not in the "prettiest" part of town, it's actually smack in the middle of the Shankill neighborhood not far from the Peace Walls but we found this to be a plus as walking to the town centre everyday we got a dose of history from looking at the many murals depicting the Troubles.

JordanThe walls and floors are pretty thin and you can hear and feel pretty much every move and sound through them. 4 rooms (2 of which are double rooms, so that's 6 people) competing for one shower isn't exactly ideal. Furthermore, the shower was broken on my last day there. The pictures also do not show any of the single rooms, so you get the perception of booking a king size bed with a double room space, although that's far from being the case. The bed was squeaky and uncomfortable too, the sheets weren't fresh either. Finally , the neighborhood is also a hardcore unionist base with many murals supporting the israeli genocide of Palestinians and glorifying the occupation.
The relative proximity to both downtown Belfast and the murals.

United KingdomBit out of main city, and no instructions were given regarding the road closures (cuz of communal tension in the area) post 6PM. Had to unnecessarily walk 3 miles to get to my bed. Toilets weren't clean too. No room cleaning or towel changes for 3 days.
Shankill road is itself a historic place.

United KingdomThere was a lot of noise if somebody moved above us which can’t be helped and we expected that to be honest. Was also a bit more of a walk to the city centre than we realised but that’s definitely an oversight on our part.
Great little room very clean and we liked the colours and the theme going on. Shared facilities were good too again very clean.

PolandThe walls are super thin, whoever stays in the room below hears everything that happens in the room above, even them just walking around the room., taking a shower and having the person in the other room banging on the wall. the kitchen and the living room were a mess, clothes scattered on the sofa, a slug on the sponge, the stairs make a huge noise and to close the door you have to slam it hard, the room below doesn't even It should be allowed to rent because the only ventilation it has is the window, which has to be closed because it has direct access to the street, apart from all the other problems.
The location, a place with a lot of history.

United KingdomSome folk were in the shower for about 40 mins - shared bathroom should perhaps have a little written reminder to be considerate for other residents and limit time in the shower to allow others to have the use of it. Since it's a house the walls were thin and could hear the bathroom next door early in the morning - the early risers could hear them whistling and singing which was surprisingly uplifting - but other than that we really enjoyed our stay and was a comfy sleep at night!
Cleanliness, location was a good walk to city but not too far away, the TV in room, the wardrobe space, hairdryer, the bin in bedroom and bin in bathroom (being female this is really a relief with the little things being available). The number of sockets and side lamps. The bed was comfy. The kitchen and fridge acces was great if we stayed longer we would have made more use of the kitchen and outside garden area.
