Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNo negatives at all as I fit easily into this environment, but not everyone will.
Great location, great unusual place for accommodation. The yard, horses and plenty of room for my horse box. Great owner and conversations with Thom. Nice early morning wake up call by the farrier as soon as I heard the nails being clipped off. Bathroom could do with a paint and a small sink, but you can get by very easily, so it's not a negative.

United KingdomThe telly reception was poor.
The location was superb. Tea and coffee were provided with fresh milk. The owner was most helpful and even gave us a lift. If you are looking for 5 * luxury, this is not the place for you. We thought it was wonderful and in a beautiful part of the world, with glorious countryside right outside. There is also a great pub opposite, which is very welcoming. If you are not keen on horses avoid staying here, as they are in very close proximity luckily we love them. A most enjoyable stay.

United KingdomParticularly enjoyed staying in a working stable yard, having breakfast with a horse and two dogs was an exceptional experience. The facilities are eclectic and comfortable with everything you need for self catering; the hosts were friendly, warm and available before and during our stay; there is adequate parking and the surrounding area is rural and peaceful. Highly recommend Crocker's Farm and also, if you're looking for places to go, Buckland Park Lake.

NetherlandsIn the advertisement at Booking there are pictures of two accommodations mixed. So we didn't expect to stay in a stable - without a small garden, as we saw at the pictures. The 'outside' was the square between the stables. That was no problem for us, as we loved seeing the horses and we were there only for two nights. But for people who stay longer the pictures could be a little misleading. Also the first night we were woken up at 6.15 by someone who came to feed the horses. 😬 But the next day it was much better!
What a great host Thom is! He was already very kind and helpful through the app, but in real live even more. He helped us by calling the train company, because we wanted to visit London and there were strikes. We stayed in a converted stable, and so we saw a lot of the horses and the other people who took care of the horses, who were all very kind. Especially our teenage girls loved that! The beds were fine, shower and kitchen were good, everything was taken care of. Also it is in a beautiful area, where you can make great walks!

United KingdomNothing, everything was delightful!
Thom was a very lovely host. He is extremely helpful and accommodating. He went out of his way to make us feel comfortable, gave us guidance on which trails to follow as we wanted a proper hike. My partner forgot her hiking boots, so Thom lent us his. He is simply a fantastic host, I would not hesitate to recommend and I hope to visit again soon! To top it off, it's a truly authentic experience, staying in former stables converted into living quarters. There are horses on site!

United KingdomThe only thing I didn't like was because it was a converted stable there were quite a few little gaps here and there where spiders could get in and I'm terrified of spiders ! I think it was probably the time of year we went as well ( end of August ) when all the spiders start coming indoors ! But if I didn't have a spider phobia the place would have been perfect for what we wanted .
The location was excellent, lovely walks on the doorstep and a great pub very close by . The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. We had our very nervous dog with us and they were very understanding even if she growled or barked at them . It was lovely living amongst the horses as our accommodation was within the stable yard. .The accommodation had everything we needed , including an iron , small ironing board and hair dryer . When I'd read about the accommodation before we went it said there were 2 cooking rings , a microwave and toaster but there was actually a proper cooker with oven and grill which I wasn't expecting.

IsraelThe location was great, very rural and quiet, lots of forest walks. Tom the host was friendly and very helpful and accommodating. We enjoyed looking out on the stable yard and seeing the horses and the nesting swallows. The kitchen was simple but everything worked fine, plenty of freezer space and the frying-pans didn't stick. The beds were warm and comfortable. The wood stove was excellent; in a chilly wet week in July it was a life saver!

United KingdomCrockers Farm • The photograph promoted a different, and more attractive, building than the one allocated to us. We were misled. • Our accommodation was cold, dark, scruffy and the furniture and equipment looked like it had been salvaged from other people’s throw-outs. The bed, however, was alright and the wood burner gave us warmth in the evenings. • The internal conversion showed poor craftsmanship – poorly finished, loose panels and light switches inconveniently positioned. • The shower room was cramped, no wash basin which meant we had to wash in the kitchen sink, the flush button was missing and the shower head and controls at wrong end of the cubicle. The present position congested the narrow doorway and the duckboards were a trip hazard. • The dining area was dark and gloomy – we didn’t use it. • Putting the micro-wave cooker under the kitchen sink was a potential hazard – water and electricity don’t mix! • Only the centre element in the toaster worked and the handle on the refrigerator was broken. • The ‘outdoor furniture’ was a rusty table and two chairs positioned in a concreted yard. This year I will be 90 and my wife 80 and we were in the area to deal with a difficult family situation. The poor accommodation didn’t help and we both felt that it was not up to the standard we should expect in the twenty-first century. We have used many holiday lets throughout the UK and this was the worst we have experienced. In our opinion it should not be on the market in its present condition. We paid £330 and consider it was worth far less than that amount, a refund would not be refused.
