Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomFor us it served the purpose we needed, it does what it says on the tin! Its not luxury but it's above basic. If you want the finer points this is what we felt (some things in response to other reviews)... Bedding spotless and towels as fresh as you'd expect so no issues there. Overall the room was clean but felt like it was all cleaned with one cloth (so things we a bit streaky and smeared). But no sign of any dirt at all. Kitchen had the minimum, 2 plates (tea plate size), 2 pans etc. No tea towel. Bath towels are small towels. So don't expect a bath sheet. They do the job though Complaints of 'paper thin walls' and 'noise from other rooms'. We were in a ground floor room and yes we could hear the room above (footsteps) occasionally but way less noise than you get in a hotel room
Location was excellent. Just a few minutes stroll from O2 academy (our reason for booking), plus a Sainsbury's, ASDA, Costa, Greggs, a great Chinese (the Imperial). Beautiful walk along the canal too We initially booked one night just for a place to crash after a gig but added an extra for a recovery day! I hadn't read the reviews until then. When I read them I regretted the booking but all I can say is don't believe what you read....unless there is a huge variation in the standards and facilities across the rooms at Crosskeys. Tea and coffee to get you going was provided along with a welcome gift of a box of shortbread biscuits Extremely easy self 'check in' with key pad and key box. Full instructions sent by email, seamless process Street parking available just up the road Cooking facilities perfectly sufficient Good size room and double size shower Heating system effective and easy to use

United KingdomDespite being advertised as having a kitchenette, no cutlery or crockery except two mugs and teaspoons. A note saying "Only open for fridge, freezer and microwave. No cooking allowed" meant the hot plate was out of bounds (also no pots and pans...) Having used the microwave to heat a ready meal, I discovered there were no plates or cutlery to eat it with! TV required registration for Roku, then showed a distorted picture so not usable.
Easy self check-in/out. On several bus routes. Clean and simple. Good shower.

United KingdomFOR YOUR OWN SANITY, CHECK YOUR EMAIL! I assisted 3 other guests who were confused on how to gain access, looking for staff. All of them had an email that they hadn't realized they needed to look at! I really don't think the Cross keys can be blamed for this!
I was notified by email before arriving of which room i would be in, how to gain entry and what the WiFi codes were. The room had great facilities, with a microwave and fridge (with freezer box) and a small shower room with self lit mirror. It also had a Roku TV with streaming apps built in.

ItalyNo cleaning was done during our stay and we hadn't been informed about it. You never see any staff about as it is fully automated check-in and out. The walls are quite thin, so you can hear noises from the units next door/upstairs from you. Bathroom is a bit small and the heating in there could not be turned off, turning it and the room into a furnace at times.
The room was clean and decently sized for our needs. It had some food-making/heating facilities which is what we were after. It's on a main road with decent bus routes to move around town. Price was very reasonable.

GermanyFirst of all, we had no wifi for the first day. We texted the staff, first they seemed not interested because they said, it must be our fault. Then we called them and asked for someone to show up in person. They showed up at 11 pm, which was very nice but they couldn’t help us. The next day they wanted to show up at 11 am to see if the problem still existed. Nobody came so we went out but when we came back late in the evening, they installed a wifi repeater, which fixed the issue. So all in all not a bad experience, but a little annoying, because we needed the wifi for work. Additionally, we didn’t get enough towels and the floor was full of black hair. It was a bit dusty and the sink and the fridge had leftover dirt from the people before us in. In the end we had a good time in this hotel and they really tried their best.
