Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomLovely welcome. Crossways is an older property with unique original features. Our room was adequate with the features you'd expect. Breakfast really was first class, as was the service. Nothing was too much trouble. Cannot wait to stay again.

United KingdomDue to it’s main road location, there was constant traffic until late evening, and again from early morning onwards. It was quiet overnight though. If you’re out & about all day/eve like we were it’s not so much of an issue.
Fabulous breakfast, excellent service. Traditional British B&B. Right on the main road in the centre of the village.

United KingdomCreaky floorboards
Super comfy bed , excellent breakfast, and very friendly welcome. We spent 2 nights here and the hotel itself may seem a little dated for some but we were warmly welcomed by the owner and her son the beds were super clean and very comfortable 👌 5 minutes walk from a multitude of shops, cafes and pubs all giving a warm welcome. There was an issue with the power on our 2nd morning, and we had to move rooms, but this was no fault of the owners, so we didn't mind. Our 2nd room was spacious and clean. The only thing I could fault would have been the very creaky floor boards ! Our TV didn't work ,but we were supplied with a digital stick so we could get Netflix. Breakfast was a good choice of fruits yoghurt cereals, with a choice of full English and toast cooked very well I must say 😋 If you're looking for a modern hotel, then don't book here , but if you're looking for a comfortable night, a warm welcome and a delicious breakfast, then I highly recommend Crossways .

United KingdomThe decor was a bit dated - single glazing and woodchip wallpaper. The shower could have been a bit more modern but it worked and plenty of hot water.
The breakfast was really good, plenty of choice and freshly cooked - and hot! The cereal and fruit choices were good too. The bed was comfortable and we were glad the heating came on, it can get chilly this time of the year.

My husband really enjoyed our stay with Pauline and her son Simon. Breakfast was plentiful, beautifully presented and delicious. The hosts were so pleasant and helpful. We stayed in the twin room which I thoroughly recommend. Pauline had thought of everything - from shower and bath products to cotton buds, cotton pads, sweets. Highly recommended.

United KingdomVery friendly hostess, lovely hot breakfast served by Paul. Bedroom 10 is on the top floor (4 flights stairs) overlooking main road. Bed very comfortable. Petite Ensuite with tiny wash basin. Had to use teapot to fill with water to fill the kettle. Shower cubicle small space. Generous supply of toiletries, quality soft towels. Small selection of cookies & sweets supplied. TV aerial reception was not good so didn’t watch. Magazines and spare phone chargers are available to use from basket on the landing.

United KingdomHad booked a twin room with Booking.com, picture of twin room on confirmation and stated 2 beds. When we arrived was told only large double, and that what Booking.com had booked. Will not use Booking.com again as this is the second time our booking was wrong. The first time our room had been double booked even through we booked 2 months before. My granddaughter was not happy that there was no door on the bathroom. ,

United KingdomIt’s a lovely old house full of character but it needs updating,it’s on a busy road the traffic kept us awake so double glazed windows might help with this. The bathroom is very small and the sink nearly unusable because it’s tiny.
Location was great for days out, bus service was very close by. The breakfast was really good, very tasty and plenty of choice. Pauline and Paul who run the B&B were very attentive and helpful.

United KingdomCrossways in on a busy main road, was quite noisy at times until quite late and from early morning as our room was at the front. As it was on the 2nd floor carrying suitcases up two floors was a workout.
Staff/Owner was very friendly and the breakfasts were good. There was ample car parking at the back of the property.
