Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWhat a great little secluded away from the rest of the world where you can just enjoy nature in the garden/woods. Staff are welcoming and really nice with great advice of placers to go.

United StatesTricky to find, maybe some signage needed
Jordan is an amazingly warm host for this incredible property which has undergone considerable renovation. Its a bit tricky to find and the paths are muddy so bring your wellies ! This is an incredible quirky house to stay in, it’s not your typical find on booking.com but we loved it. Prince the cat kept us company too. We felt very welcome & relaxed there & will definitely go back if we get the chance !

United KingdomProperty is only accessible up a muddy, potholed, single width dirt track. It's not lit, so if you're on foot like I was, you'll need to get a taxi there after dark. The place is in the middle of some sort of refurbishment; bare plaster walls everywhere, no carpet in my room, just a rug, and a bare wire hanging out of the ceiling!! There are no proper curtains in the wet room, so you can be seen having a shower from outside. Although located in the woods, you are next to the railway line and those trains run *all night*, the faster ones seem to set off the security lights as well so I got about 2 hours sleep in total. There's plenty of noise inside, too, with people clomping about on the bare floorboards. Staff didn't bother to explain how everything worked at the property. When I came back in the taxi from my night out I spent 10 minutes knocking on the front door to get in (no key was offered) When someone eventually appeared they said I should have used the side door. Well I would have if you had told me! The next morning, I packed and went downstairs. I couldn't find anyone to say I was leaving, so I just slipped out the front door, never to return... Overall this is one of the worst places I've ever stayed at and I can't understand why anyone would give it a positive review.
A character property in an unusual location. That sounds appealing but please see above.

United KingdomNothing to add!
We had a wonderful stay at Crow Nest House, Jordan was a fantastic host - such welcoming vibes - just like staying at a friend's house, but the house was huge, beautiful and unique. Loads of room and land, great facilities including a huge kitchen and firepit outside, really comfortable bedroom and living space with a lovely cat Prince to keep you company. It's just behind the train station, so great location. Hebden Bridge is a beautiful town to visit and we'll definitely be back to stay here next time. Thanks!

United KingdomThe bunk room still has bare plaster and a large wire protruding from the ceiling, as well as no floor covering - just bare chipboard. The curtains are thin and don't block out much light, and the shared bathroom is very tired, and whilst not dirty, isn't exactly clean.
The price and the location were ideal for what my friends and I have planned for this weekend. 6 of us going for a big walk, and then just wanting to crash somewhere comfy without paying through the nose, so 2 rooms which slept 6 people for £240 was very fair. Jordan the host is extremely helpful. I was able to ring him before we arrived and he allowed us to park our cars their for the day whilst we were walking, also he was able to give us a key so we didn't need to be back in HB until we were ready - this was a massive help! The beds were comfy and clean, and the room was warm.

United KingdomAccess poor with limited parking (2 cars max). The house was beautiful from the front but the surrounding land and parking was very unkempt and unfit as a booking.com accommodation.
