No food available at evening or in the morning. Hotel was deserted at breakfast time despite website having evening and breakfast menus. short flight of steps up to immediately outside bedroom door very dangerous. Bizarre lighting switches in the room which had to be explained to me.

    It was very cheap

Some of the lights did not work and switches lose in the wall. Bathroom sink needs re silicone.

Cheap room didn't expect much for £40. Served its purpose. Evening meal was adequate. Bed sheets and towels were clean.

Small room with uncomfortable bed. I had to bring a chair from work so I had a seat. There was no soap/shower gel/shampoo in the room. I had to stand for 20 minutes to check in with no reason for the wait apart from the guy at reception on the phone.

    Good Parking.

Having stayed at the hotel before, it was clear that Covid has affected them badly: staffing seems to be an issue, in particular and I did feel for Shaun, who was doing his utmost to compensate. The rooms were not ready for most of the guests. There was no kettle, tea, coffee etc or toiletries in the room. I asked for this on arrival but it was only when Shaun was there on the following day that these were provided. The TV had no controller. There was no bulb in the bedside light (Shaun remedied that). The room had not been vacuumed prior to our arrival. The restaurant was closed for breakfasts and evening meals (staffing issues, I assume) but Brackley has a good range of alternatives: The Little Istanbul was so good that we ate there on three nights out of four!

The bed was clean and comfortable, and the room had good storage for clothing; the shower was easy to work, though it had no curtain; some of the staff were very helpful, particularly Shaun, Dion and Dana. Our towels were changed daily and the bed was made for us. Being in the coach house, we had windows that opened, which is always good.

Suffering from the effects of COVID-19 and definitely in need of a makeover.- no restaurant , no breakfast, no tea and coffee. no shower gel ( Not entirely unexpected during a pandemic) and very few "staff" . Several people complained or just left but you had to see the funny side. [eg one go our group uses a sleep apnea machine, when he plugged it in fine, but when he switched the lights off the power to the plug went off too!! The TV's are all connected to the "ether-net" as mine just sat on the windowsill with no signs of any cable or power source ? I could go on but it would fill a book!] Took all evening to get rooms, then we got the wrong keys for one and the staff in charge of guests were like the ghosts that probably still haunt the place. If you are at all fussy then don't book here . For us the benefits of the location were ideal and after booking.com cancelled our original booking due to a credit card mix up without even asking for alternative payment. ( I've reviewed them elsewhere) It was pure luck we found it with some space. The village is great and there are lots of nice places to eat. Being next to Waitrose made sourcing food easy and a lot cheaper than buying it at the circuit. Ok so lots of things could be improved and given some money and time I hope they will be because it has potential. Really you couldn’t have made it up " Basil Fawlty would be proud, but as we had such a great time it didn’t matter and if we come back again we'd probably stay there just for the laughs ! by the way Little Istanbul just up the road serves great food !

It was convenient for Silverstone and the room was comfortable there was hot water and the sheets were clean. The staff were friendly and tried their best under the circumstances.

Check in was a farce. Very unwelcoming and lady told us we should have arrived yesterday (their mistake, not ours). She had to reprint paperwork which took ages. Check in was advertised as 2pm on booking.com but couldn’t check in until 3. Parking very confusing and unclear but was included. The hotel bar looked OK but was frequented by loud, swearing locals. When we returned at about 10:30pm there was a woman sitting on the floor shouting in distress. No info given about checking out and no-one around so we just left the key on the desk.

Room in the coach house extension was very nice. It was quiet as we were away from the main building. Bed was comfortable and room was a pleasant temperature. All lights worked and the furnishings were of a good standard.

I was told price of breakfast when I rang ahead. But there was no food being served, so why didn’t they tell me that, when I rang? Appetising menus were left in foyer for the first two days, giving a false impression that food was available. Initially I was given two unsuitable, ill-equipped and grubby rooms, before being found a much better one. On my arrival, no tea tray provided in room. Had to ask for one. After this, tea tray was not refreshed daily, or cups washed, unless specifically requested.

Location excellent. A great bar atmosphere, with friendly locals. Good content of welcome trays.

They cancelled our booking when we almost had arrived then agreed they can sort our confirmed booking as we were a massive group (family) but when we got there our rooms were in different hotels across the streets few mins walk away so we’re weren’t together. There was no staff on sight except a lady closing up and there was a key issue. Also no heating in 2 out of 4 rooms we booked and tea and coffee facilities only in 2 rooms as well. Just not great for a family stay.

Staff were nice and tried to be helpful.

Two hour delay for check-in, no hand soap in bathroom and kettle, coffee and tea but no mugs. Also they claimed the reasoning behind the delay in check-in was due to house keeping but the toilet was not clean and there were cobwebs on lamp shades and on top of the curtains.

Bed was really comfortable and the manger of the bar gave us complimentary drinks due to the delay of check-in.
