The cold breakfast options were a little unimaginative and not really pro-health. Granola among the boxed cereals, berries in the fruit salad and plain (ie non-fruit flavoured) yoghurt would have been appreciated. I would have appreciated body lotion in the bathroom.

The room was very attractive and comfortable. The staff were all welcoming and helpful.

A more exciting menu would have been great, less cheffy and more foody. The slow cooked pork was delicious but needed gravy not dots of apple sauce! Soup was boring.

The shower was overly complicated. A hot and cold tap would have been a better option for non-technical people. The tub was very slippery and a low threshold shower would have been a better option for older guests rather than climbing into a bathtub. The restaurant prices were silly expensive, plus a 10% gratuity? Over 80 pounds for a dinner for 2. We could not find a space to park in the hotel.

The location was excellent and the room was very nice. Very clean and useful items available in the room.

Crown Hotel is well situated in a lovely quiet village with quick access to the A1. The staff were very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Breakfast was lovely and very well presented. We also had an evening meal which was superb.

Very disappointed with the food. My husband said his evening meal was ok but I chose the Caesar salad. Worst one I have had. Consisted of lettuce, a copious amount of cress and croutons, very little chicken and what there was was from the leg which was dark and fatty. Breakfast not much better, tasteless bread and the poached eggs undercooked.

Very nice venue, the bar, coffee shop, restaurant, clean and well decorated. The room was clean and comfortable, if a little small.

Breakfast was great value , relaxed atmosphere in the dining area , staff polite and friendly room was fine my only disappointment was I asked for a sofa bed but ended up with a single put up bed , but still a great place to stay would recommend

Breakfast. This was the only thing that let the stay down for us. The breakfast menu has very little variety, 3 types of Eggs Benedict or full English or a bacon/sausage sandwich. After 3 mornings of full English we couldn’t face another one. I sent mine back for the bacon to be further cooked one morning and the sausages were always tasteless so the sandwiches on offer were not tempting either. . The fresh fruit also had no variation, chopped up melon every morning. However, I would not let that put me off going again. If there is an option to book without breakfast I would probably go for that but if it remained included I would still book.

This hotel is spotlessly clean and has lovely helpful staff. The furnishings are lovely. Yes, the bathroom needs updating but it is perfectly serviceable .We had a Superior room which was huge and again had very comfortable furniture. The evening meals were beautifully presented and tasted even better than they looked.
