We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

United KingdomThe hotel was in a great location in Southwold which is a lovely, unspoilt coastal Suffolk town. The staff were really friendly, chatty and helpful. Apart from the first evening where we enjoyed a delicious Sunday roast, we ate out to enjoy other pubs and restaurants in Southwold, but the breakfasts were excellent.

Isle of ManOur room could have done with a teeeeeny bit of TLC but in no way was this a dealbreaker. It was huge and full of character... albeit a wee bit noisy on occasions.
The staff are delightful, as always; we have been visiting for many (many!) years and I love it with all my heart - it's a very special place for me.

Unlike most hotels who use saving the planet and sustainability as an excuse save money by not servicing room the staff here asked if we wanted room serviced. Good old fashioned service with a smile. Tip try and park undercover as the seagulls are lethal . Well done the Crown👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 mist definitely our place to stay whenever we visit southwold or close by.

United KingdomA nice touch was coming down to breakfast and finding daily newspapers available - luckily I wore my sandals and had the smoked tofu (so they were expecting people like me) …. but unfortunately there was no Guardian … but seriously folks are the only other guests Telegraph and Daily Mail readers? Ok so the i was there but is that a serious alternative?

The hotel has historical charm from the entrance to the dining rooms and snug to the rear. Guests also had a reading room on the first floor. The room was clean, good size with ensuite and TV and radio. The extra's of ubiquitous Adnams ale, crisps and tea and coffee was a bonus. We parked to the rear which was helpful. We ate in the dining room and were well fed with vegetarian options. Breakfast too was good with plenty of hot and cold, and good service. Staff polite, attentive and discreet.
