How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Heaters in the room and bathroom were not clear how to control temperature. Room had all I needed but was very compact the view from the window being a close rockface ( but at least it had a window with daylight)

The walls are so thin - absolutely NO soundproofing in room- could hear next room conversations clearly, and every single footstep from the room above!! Such a pity as it looks as if hotel has recently been refurbished- if only they’d put in some soundproofing!! View from room was a wall !!

Everything was good ! Rooms were a bit warm and we struggled to make it colder.

The breakfast was self serve buffet style and was luke warm (maybe the timing of coming down for breakfast - 8.30am) and not checked on to see if anything needed refilling, ran out of sausage and beans when I went up. The room its self was lovely but the location of it was not, we were at the back of the hotel and our window view looking straight at a wall. The rooms do not seem very sound proof, in the evening we could hear a guest upstairs walking around his room as if he was in our own. We could hear next doors shower running thinking it was ours.
The location of the hotel was amazing, the staff were perfect and evening meals were also great. The beds were really comfortable and warm.

Hotel quite dated with very brown decor and furniture, which makes it look drab, although bathrooms were modern and updated.

The dining room was situated where guests were walking through on their way to check out as you were eating breakfast. In effect it was an exit route.
The staff were excellent. Breakfast was excellent. Location worked for our trip.

The parking was a little bit difficult to find a spot. They do have additional parking down the street, but it would be better if the hotel had bigger car parking on the property.
The receptionist was amazing, very helpful, and attentive. The restaurant and buffet were both great with food and it was delicious

As far as the goes, it would have been great if we had hooks on doors to hang coats .
Beautiful location, hotel spotlessly clean, only a 5 minute walk to town.

As stated on here, walls were quite thin but we were knackered after Ben Nevis so not an issue for us :) would have been nice to have some fresh fruit for breakfast. Dinner prices were quite expensive.
Staff were amazing, I didn't get the ladies name on reception but Rasheed and Anastacia in the restaurant were great. Breakfast buffet was great value and service was brill. Room was clean with comfy beds and pillows. Shower pressure was FANTASTIC. Blackout curtains were a nice touch and room was beautifully decorated. Ample parking and good access. Awesome views of the loch and very close to town and and 1.5 miles away from mountain base.

Noisy orgasm from lady next door. Also not able to put food or drinks on the room bill as the restsurant operates separately
