Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Loved our stay at Cuddy’s Croft - accommodation was lovely, very clean and had everything we needed. Scones, jam and cream on arrival with Prosecco was very welcome after a long journey! Bedroom and living area spacious too, and very warm during our stay in autumn. Great location for exploring the coastal areas and walking in the Cheviots. The hosts were very friendly, and lots of info provided in the welcome pack. Would love to stay again.

United KingdomThere was nothing to dislike for us.
Excellent location for discovering Northumberland. Cuddys Croft is a splendid choice, it is well equipped, spotlessly clean and its just in the most ideal setting. Surrounded by hills and countryside with pheasants and deer for company. You won't go wrong in anyway if you use Cuddys Croft for your holiday base.

United KingdomI can't say there was any unless the owners can do anything about the slow-moving pheasants on some of the roads, LOL.
I liked it all. It was quiet occasional car passing but mostly the birds tweening. Isolated but not so it took you minutes to a small post office which you could walk in 30 minutes or go to the nearest small town for groceries. It was a good base to travel from. It was roomy, warm from the sun, and heating if you needed it, well equipt with items you wouldn't think would be provided, more than basic.

United KingdomDelightful cottage in rural Northumberland which exceeded our expectations. There was ample living space for a couple and a very comfortable bed, with everything we needed provided. After a long drive we greatly appreciated the delicious cream tea and prosecco on arrival, together with lots of information about local amenities and places to visit. The hosts (who live in an attached property) were extremely helpful and even very kindly gave us a lift to collect our car after we had a puncture. We did need the car (so many local places to visit) but also enjoyed walking in the beautiful surrounding countryside to St Cuthbert's statue and cave. We thoroughly recommend using this lovely, comfortable property as your base when visiting this beautiful part of the country.

United KingdomOnly slight issue was unable to sit outside due to log burner smoke. Or have windows open during warmer days but that's purely down to suffering migraines and strong smells being a trigger.
The cottage offered complete comfort and relaxation. Lorna and Andy are great hosts. Freshly baked scones with cream and a bottle of bubbly on arrival was a lovely touch. Fresh eggs and homemade preserves are available to buy from the porch. It was our first time in Northumberland and so lucky to have found this little gem in Cuddy's Croft.

United KingdomWe absolutely loved the location of the cottage and facilities whilst there....absolutely eveything you could need was there and available...mince pies cream and mulled wine...a real treat on arrival. We had a great time and would return again. We cut short our holiday due to Storm Arwen and loss of electric and water....no fault of the property....just one of those things!!

Cuddy’s Croft is a lovely little cottage attached to the owners farmhouse. Its a small cottage but feels much bigger thanks to all the light filling the rooms from the roof windows. We had these open at night so we could see the thousands of stars from our bed. We had everything we could wish for inside, a very well equipped and comfortable place to stay. A fairly secluded location in the gorgeous countryside but ideal for a short drive to the local beaches and attractions.
