How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Nothing I can say that I didn't like. Everything was perfect.
I had another wonderful stay at Cuisinease. Jacqueline is a wonderful host, very welcoming on arrival & showing me everything that I might need during my stay. The room itself is spacious, very comfy & very well kitted out with TV, fridge, kettle, coffee maker, cups, hanging space. The property is spotless & very well kept. It's my second stay with Jacqueline at Cuisinease & I would definitely stay again next time I'm in the area.

Just to say that I was a resident of The Markhams as a young child many years ago, and this was my very first visit since then; my emotions were high as I arrived there for my stay. The service by Jacqueline was excellent. I had a wonderful stay and hope to call there again at some point.

The house was a bit too cold, it was surprisingly cold weekend, which was not expexted at the end of April, so I can assume that the host did not anticipate that and perhaps not the one to blame. We did have an electric blanket in our bed, so at least we had a cosy night.
Jacqueline is a very good host, she tried her best to make our stay good. She served exceptional breakfast, and it's a shame that we did not get a chance to try her other dishes as we had very busy schedule. Bed was comfortable and we had what we needed in the room.

Nothing to dislike, value for money.
Accommodation clean, comfortable, very homely. Hostess, very accommodating, friendly and nothing seems too much. Good food.

Nothing to dislike.
The owner Jaqueline was fantastic, allowed me an early check in so I could attend a family wedding, she was friendly and went the extra mile. Brilliant value for money. The bed was very comfortable and the whole place was spotless. Paid extra for the breakfast which was freshly cooked and very good.

The room is very dated could do with decorating.
Jacqueline is lovely, cant do enough for you and food very good. Very welcoming just a little dated (decor). Bed very comfortable

It can get cold and damp in the winter months but Jacqueline puts the electric blanket on every night. Jobs need doing that all costs money. Each time I have been she has done something else for improvement and is working hard every day to update and improve her business and I take my hat off to her!! She's getting there bit by bit. Jacqueline is a perfect hostess. Nothing is too much trouble! Always smiling, positive and friendly. The food is delicious and they are good portions. A comfortable place to stay and be pampered at the same time. What more do you need total value for money. Jacqueline puts her heart and soul into the running of the business and I hope that it goes from strength to strength to strength because she deserves it!!

That she was allergic to my dog :(
Jaqueline has a very warm Heart and gives her best so you will feel welcome and at home. She likes to take care of her guests with homecooked meals and always has an open ear if you need to talk. I would absolutely stay with her again..

As a solo female traveller. I highly recommend Jacqueline! Such a kind lady, the room was lovely, cleanable and comfortable ❤️ arrived with a heated blanket already on the bed, WiFi access and a TV with netflix, TV etc on it! Breakfast available on request and I'd highly recommend it! Location was PERFECT if you're shooting near Tank Space, Tesco is close by too! Nice and quiet street so not too much noise either! 10/10 I'd stay here again if I was to do another photoshoot there :)

Given that I brought a large dog with me, the room was perhaps a little cramped, but would have been fine with a smaller dog. Nobody's fault really.
The free breakfast on offer was quite adequate. It was possible to upgrade to a full breakfast, but I was perfectly happy with what I had. The evening meals were all excellent, and the location was perfect for me and the soppy greyhound I brought with me.

Everything is always fab staying with Jaqueline! She is so welcoming, the rooms are lovely and have everything you need. The food is fabulous! Useful location and lovely and quiet. Couldn’t recommend more, definitely stay here!

Nothing. The location was tricky to find in the past but once you know where to go it is easy. Everything was explained clearly.
Brilliant nights sleep. The lady Jacqueline who runs it was very polite and friendly. It felt like being in a normal house that I had lived in for years. The bed was nice and warm, with a heated blanket. With a fire stick for the TV.
