Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing we didn't like and can't wait to book again.
This cottage was the perfect getaway we needed. The cottage had everything we needed and more. Great distance to all the places we wanted to explore in Wales, nowhere seemed too far away, Cardiff, Beacons and so much more. The perfect base for exploring and after a long day out, Crickhowell had the most wonderful choice of pubs on your doorstep. Not that I wanted too but had to spend one morning working. Had the perfect set up in the dining room with Wi-Fi.

FranceMain issue is proximity to A40 which was surprisingly noisy in the early morning.
Nicely situated in the middle of the town. Convenient for pubs and shops.

United KingdomOne aspect that needs to be looked at is the back door. The lock is weak and when I locked it the door actually opened. A small bathroom catch was the only additional security. If this is improved, I would have given it a '10'.
Excellent location and period style property in the heart of Crickhowell. Comfortable and well furnished rooms throughout. Very clean on arrival and keys easily collected from the Dragon Inn hotel which is a short walk away from the property. Parking excellent at the Hotel as well. Two large bedrooms and a separate dining and sitting area. I would certainly stay here again. I enjoyed the paintings throughout the house as well.

United KingdomThe only negative was the snug toilet.
Number 8 was perfect for our party of three adults, with comfortable furnishings and beds. The kitchen and bathroom were well equipped and very clean. The town of crickhowel and the surrounding area are beautiful and this cottage is the perfect base from which to explore.

United KingdomHard to sleep with the road noise. It's seems after midnight the lorries come flying through Crickhowell. Also bin lorries at 6am reversing up the road . As there is no double or secondary glazing you hear everything. It's a shame as everything else was really lovely .
Lovely period cottage, nicely decorated and the kind of holiday home I love staying in. Beds were really comfy, great bathroom and nicely decorated. Well placed close to the main area. The staff at the Dragon inn were exceptionally helpful and handy to be able to park there.

United KingdomWeirdly on the first night (Tuesday after bank holiday) the road noise was horrific from 3am onwards (lorry after lorry rattling along the pot holes). We were dreading the next night as we’d already lost out on sleep, but we never experienced it after that. And the bin man comes at 4:30!!! Take your ear plugs and also eye curtains. The blinds were lovely but still lots of light came in. Got locked out due to faulty latch which was not great after a 18 mile walk but compensated for the 4 hours we were locked out. And hopefully this won’t be an issue for future renters! Although the locksmith was nice eye candy 😆😆
Bed super comfy. Lovely bed linen. Excellent shower. Great location for choice of evening places to eat in walking distance and good base for the walks we wanted to do. Eye for detail in the appartement good. And small private gravel garden which got the evening sun.

United KingdomFor the asking price there's nothing really to complain about. The only problem we had is that we were unable to obtain a VAT receipt for our stay. Booking.com would not provide one for this stay for some reason.
Lovely period accommodation, right Inthe middle of this lovely little town and retaining lots of original features, slightly quirky - but everything we needed was there. For our business trip so much better than a hotel as we were able work at the dining table. We had breakfast at the dragon inn which I highly recommend.

United KingdomThere was nothing to not like. Everything was perfect.
Check in was very easy , keys are collected from the very nice pub literally 2 mins walk from the cottage which also has a large car park which is free to use for the cottage guests. The location of the house is spot on, everything you could need is at most 5 minutes walk away. The area surrounding Crickhowell has absolutely stunning scenary, we were attending a training day at nearby the Glanusk estate and the cottage was perfect for that. In cottage itself is beautifully equipped with very comfy beds and a great shower. 100% will be returning for a break with my wife instead of work collegue!
