Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomLimited choice on night required & previous reviews reason for booking flat however slightly disappointed with level of cleanliness especially in bathroom, + condition of flat door where lock has at some stage been badly damaged / busted. Aware a Sat night but high levals of noise until at least 2am from groups of people walking home and then traffic (single glazed x2 large windows) which we note are due to be replaced from council notice in communal lobby
Great Location for Rochester High Street, good communication with owner, flat value for monies paid

It was in a central location for activities and going out in Rochester . The studio flat was nicely equipped with all we needed.

United Kingdom* Unfortunately the bed was a tad too short. As a guy of 6ft1 my feet hung off the end of the mattress. * The bed, I also found wasn't that comfortable. Thing with beds though is everyone has a preference when it comes to softness etc so It doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad bed, it just wasn't that comfy for me. * Lastly i found you can hear everything going on outside because of the single glazed windows. This only really bothered me on the Friday night though so is a minor gripe.
* Nice sized bathroom. * Nice sized kitchen and all utensils / appliances you could need were supplied. * Sky glass was a nice touch. * Easy to follow instructions laid out on the table. * Really good location.

United KingdomStarted with a hitch which was quickly remedied by the warm and friendly owner
This little button of accommodation was perfect for an overnight stay, and well located for the town centre and sightseeing. Everything needed was provided with lovely homely touches. I loved the record player and started the morning dancing to ‘70’s disco! It’s just a shame that I couldn’t stay longer...

United KingdomMattress wasn't very comfortable - could feel the coils but would be easily remedied with a memory foam mattress topper. Would definitely stay again if this resolved. Lock had a knack to it apparently that wasn't advised, so had to leave the property unlocked when leaving.
location was fabulous for our needs, close to local cafe and venue for the wedding we were attending. Car park meters away, so very convenient. Property thoughtfully designed and all amenities provided. Host very communicative.

United KingdomA lot of noise from the traffic, not because of the amount of traffic but because there was a lot of echo by the walls surrounding the road.
Very close to the city centre (5 min walking). The bed was very comfy. I loved that the host left some slippers for us! We forgot ours! The host was very helpful and quick in answering my messages (I had some trouble locking the door). The kitchen was equipped with cups, glasses, electric kettle, etc. A hairdryer and an iron was also available!

IsraelPeople to whom I would *not* recommend this place: 1) People who wish to wash their hair. Not only because shampoo is not supplied, but because the water pressure bordered on "dribble". A real bummer for a multi-day stay. 2) Heavy wifi consumers. The wifi kept flickering on (5%) and off (95%). I could barely read news sites, let alone watch Youtube or download a map. This would have been a deal breaker had I known in advance. 3) People who watch channels other than BBC 1 and 2. No signal for almost all the other stations. [Side note: no wifi + no TV = a lot of time to write reviews...] 4) People who don't appreciate false advertising. That bit about breakfast in the description? Those photos of a mouthwatering "breakfast hamper"? Nope, nada, nothing. (I'm sure it was an honest mistake - the Booking.com description probably hadn't been updated). This may read like sarcasm, but it's not. If you have no problem with the above four points, I really would recommend this place: clean, comfortable bed, nice kitchen.
As advertised this is, indeed, a cute and cosy space. Bed was comfortable, kitchen was great. However, it's not for everyone, and sadly, I for one, will not be coming back.

United KingdomThe flat is part of a building which also houses permanent residents. Friday & Saturday night are party nights! Saturday it was ALL NIGHT! From 6.00pm to around 5.00am people were coming and going running up and down the stairs, loud music, talking loudly outside the front door (assume they were going for a smoke). Obviously, a holiday maker cannot insist permanent residents don't "have a life" so it's not a complaint as such just an observation. We tend to get up early... I hope our telly and the bathroom fan didn't disturb them too much at 05.30am.... ;-) . Also we never had any hot water - we let the taps run for 5 mins or more but not a drop. Remedied by boiling the kettle to wash up & have a wash.
Very quirky little flat in a great location, ideal for visiting Rochester - close to castle/cathedral/train station/restaurants. Parking available 100m away - download the parking app, the machine wasn't working when we visited. Parking charge isn't expensive. We were grateful for the milk left for us in the fridge! Thank you! The flat has it's quirks - telly signal haphazard but just move the aerial to find it's preferred location... then it is not an issue. The bathroom fan screams....! Sounds very loud if you use the bathroom at night! It does settle if you let it run a few minutes. Wi-fi was good. Josie, the host is very communicative and answers any issues/questions promptly. Good value for money accommodation for a city centre location.

United Kingdom-The instructions re potentially needing to top up the energy card (despite being told it would be unlikely.) The instructions said that if the energy ran out, I would need to top up the card and deal with the meter down in the basement with a torch. Fortunately I wasnt a solo traveller but this still made me nervous just in case it had been necessary. -The lounge and kitchen areas are lovely, modern and fresh but the bathroom could benefit from an upgrade soon to match the high standard.
-Lovely space and well designed. -Homely with thoughtful touches e.g. boardgames, picnic basket and blanket. -Fantastic location for the town and train station. -I paid for an additional luxury package which was very good value . -Good comms from host.
