Nothing major. Your have to bear in mind that the new owners have only been in situ since September 23 and the hotel was empty for 3 years prior, so there is a lot to do and they are making great progress

The location and setting of the hotel is great. Lovely spaces to sit and enjoy a drink or if you want something more lively, Newport is only a short cab ride away (c.£15 Uber) The swimming pool area is great with clean changing rooms

That the hot tub and steam room wasn’t working out of use wasn’t to happy about this. Only booked because of the facilities.

My cooked breakfast arrived before I had time to eat cereal but this may have been a misunderstanding, it did not impact on my breakfast enough to ask for it to be taken away and brought back.

Lovely gentleman on reception, helped promptly when I could not work the television.

I would have happily returned to this hotel but what will prevent me from doing so is the cheap and uncomfortable mattress. Sadly it doesn't matter how good a hotel is the most important thing is a comfortable bed and this one wasn't.

The breakfast was good and the room was spacious and well equipped. The location is ideal for us, we are always looking to stay in this area.

Need to be informed that pool facilities are also used by public. We were turned away twice and asked to go back as pool was full. This was not expected and did leave us feeling frustrated. The bar is advertised as being open all day yet i stood by the bar waiting for a staff member to appear for more then 15 minutes. No one was around. This was about 4.30pm. The furniture in the room needed an update, Very worn and scratched. Room just needed an update.

The setting was beautiful. So picturesque. The food was stunning and breakfast was amazing with 10/10 for choice. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The pool was very warm and relaxing.

The responses to our enquiries via the Bookings.com app were slow and simply directed us to speak to reception at check-in, so not very helpful. The annexe where we stayed was tired and needs refurbishing. The kettle in my room (43) did not work, the light over the shaving mirror did not work and the radiator heating controls did not work. The bathroom was clean but shabby.

Close to the M4 and 30 minutes drive from Newport. Lovely setting. Very attractive main hotel building with an inviting courtyard ideal for drinks on a summer evening. Easy parking. Efficient check in. Friendly, helpful staff who were able to accommodate our request for an early breakfast on Sunday. Comfortable bed. TV in the bedroom. Free access to Wi-fi.

There are some areas that are run down, but nothing more than to be expected for an older property. Avoid the economy doubles, the bed was barely more than a single :(

Breakfast was ok but pretty basic. The hotel overall is in a beautiful location and has real potential but is in real need of some investment. Room decor was not very welcoming and warm with poor lighting and furnishing. Stay was ok but probably wouldn’t recommend or return.

The room was a little less then we expected from previous visit. Mattress was old and springs were noticeable. Shower curtain was old needs replacing. Radiator in bathroom didn’t work.

Our room was fine but my son's room next door was a little shoddy. The shower was only big enough for a person of about 4foot and the bathroom was very tired looking. Also the jacuzzi was not working very disappointing.

Lovely hotel in lovely grounds. The evening meal was very tasty and so was the breakfast, although on a previous stay we had the breakfast served to us .

Very poor Wi-Fi, tiles in the shower needed a good cleaning, black mould evident. No shelf to put tolieteries on. No soap on sink. Rooms little old fashioned. Room was overlooking the court yard and noisy with people having a cigarette early morning outside my room, talking loudly and fountain running 24 / 7.
