Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomAll was fantastic in our stay
Immersed in the enchanting ambiance of this hotel, my experience was truly memorable. The lovely fire room, with its crackling fireplace and the comforting scent of burning wood, became the perfect setting for relaxing evenings. The staff's friendliness added to the charm, creating a welcoming atmosphere throughout. Stepping into the beautifully landscaped gardens further enhanced the overall experience. This hotel is a delightful haven, offering warmth, comfort, and a truly inviting atmosphere.

We have informed the hotel staff prior to our arrival that it was our first year anniversary and they surprised us with a best wishes card and a bottle of champagne in the fridge ! The staff was super friendly , everything was magical in this place . I cannot recommend enough everyone to come and visit this place .

AustraliaHad dinner in the dining area.It was lovely. Because our Australian dollar is v e r y low at the moment it made the dinner very expensive.
We really loved staying in Daynesfield House. From the moment we drove up the winding driveway and saw the Christmas lights all over the driveway entrance trees we gasped in amazement. It was pretty spectacular. The rooms were lovely, spacious.bathroom also very lovely. We had dinner in the restaurant which was beautiful.?The interiors are breath taking and the gardens just romantically beautiful.Would absolutely recommend staying here.A most memorable experience if you love grandeur and stately homes.

United KingdomLounge was cold/cool, could be the centrepiece but missing warmth, relaxing atmosphere. Cocktail bar could do with being more relaxing/cozy. Music overall was about right volume, but too 'pumping', esp for a cocktail bar, and for breakfast.
Nice ambiance, SUPER staff all over. Good quality house menu, dinner a bit disappointing for the price. Good breakfast. Nice grounds. Spa nice, but a bit noisy, and occasionally very busy, not much space. Jacussi mostly too cool, excellent sauna and steam room.

United KingdomAbsolutely stunning hotel in a fantastic location. The building is like something out of a fairy tail from the driveway in up to the hotel. The grounds and the building itself are just perfect. The room we had was a standard room and we actually asked, upon leaving, if we had been upgraded it was that good but apparently no it was a standard. The staff were all fantastic and the food in the restaurant was some of the best we have ever had.

United KingdomParking was close but just too far if it is raining, pick up and drop down easy but the driver stands to get a bit wet, however the setting of the building would be ruined if parking was close, so this is an observation and not a gripe.

United KingdomOur room, 222, was one of the first rooms at the top of the stairs on the first floor, so had a fair amount of people coming and going past the door, with creaky floorboards making a bit of noise. This wasn't a major issue really, as it wasn't particularly busy and no guests too late to bed, but could be a problem on a busy night. The room was roomy, very pleasant, large king size bed, with a nice bathroom.
We were very impressed with Danesfield House. Spa and gym were lovely, not busy on the day we arrived (Sunday) but a bit busier on Monday morning, although still able to find a couple of beds by the pool. Choice of breakfast was excellent and service was great. We didn't eat in the evening as we were meeting friends in Marlow, 5 minutes away, where there are plenty of great restaurants and bars, including the Hand and Flowers.
