Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe ants on the tables outside Napiers. A delivery truck in few when eating our dinner. No extras for the hot chocolate, it is advertised but they didn't have any.
Beautiful hotel in a stunning location. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Location was good and easy walk to the Thames. Hotel itself was really nicely designed. Everything was comfortable in the room and in working order A nice spa experience too We had lunch and dinner as well as the breakfast. A good menu, lovely food though I thought a little expensive. Staff were exceptional. Helpful and pleasant and really went out of their way. We will be back!

United KingdomThe bar staff were a little less 'on it'. For example, my partner ordered two martinis and then had to wait ages for them and carry them the length of the bar/hall herself. It would've been nice if they'd brought them over. Bar food not the same standard as the restaurant but I guess that is to be expected. Still good just not 'wow'.
We had a wonderful stay. Staff were lovely (Ashika was super helpful with travel tips into Oxford and just a generally good host). Everyone in reception and the restaurant were fab. The food in the restaurant was incredible - faultless. The beds were incredibly comfortable. Would (and will) return in a heartbeat.

United KingdomWe undoubtedly had an amazing stay, our only two constructive criticisms were that the TV should allow you to connect to Netflix, prime, etc, so we can watch films! We also had a light that didn’t work but this had no effect on the stay and our room was still beautiful!
Our stay at Voco Oxford Thames was certainly one to remember. A luxurious feel as soon as we arrived, with such amazing views surrounding the hotel. We were greeted by Kayleigh, who made us feel welcome throughout our whole stay. Every member of staff who greeted us were polite! The room itself was lovely, we originally booked a double room, but we were in 68 so our room was larger and had our own balcony! This was a great surprise for us for our anniversary and really made our stay great! We ordered room service multiple times, and the food was incredible. We especially recommend the chicken burger! The spa was great, we enjoyed having a swim and winding down in the sauna. If you are going into Oxford, we reccomend the Meze at Antep Kitchen, about 15 minutes from the hotel. The food and atmosphere was fun! Overall a really pleasant stay. We will certainly be returning in the future!

United KingdomAlthough booked as adult and child we were charged for an additional breakfast on checking out as the reception staff explained that we should've booked for 2 adults!!!?? When eating a meal in the bar area the tables are a bit low to eat comfortably!
Room was nice and had a balcony, although we couldn't use it as the weather was terrible. Went down to have a very nice meal in the evening in the bar area, food was really tasty and you got plenty of it. Breakfast was good and plenty of space in the restaurant.

United KingdomThe Ryanair style extra charges. £7.50 to park our car(!!!) in the hotel car park. £18 flat rate breakfast. You need barista made coffee if you're going to charge this and an extra £3.50 for anything cooked fresh. The most expensive croissant and vending machine coffee I've ever had.
Super comfortable, very large bed. Spotless bathroom. In fact everywhere was spotless. The building itself was lovely, particularly the courtyard and breakfast looking out to the river and gardens. Staff were charming and efficient - all staff, from reception to bar. No wait to checkin or leave. Liked the peaceful location outside the madness of Oxford in summer - 15 minutes to Westgate to park in the evening.

United KingdomNothing- this is the best hotel we have stayed at.
Absolutely stunning hotel, in a fabulous location. The staff were just excellent and attentive, they really made a difference. The little touches made it extra special also. The food was beautiful also. It is the more expensive side, but what you get for paying a little extra is outstanding. We loved it and will return again.

United KingdomDisappointed with the spa. The pool was smaller than expected with limited places to relax. Sauna/steam in changing area. Compared to the rest of the hotel design, it didn't really fit.
Our room was nice, with a lovely view across the gardens to the river. We ate in the bar area, food was very good. Lovely central courtyard where we enjoyed drinks in the sunshine. The grounds are very pretty and worth walking around. Easy access to Oxford. We travelled into town via bus as had been warned traffic / parking can be difficult. Bus stops outside entrance to hotel and takes c30mins.

United KingdomThe tennis court could do with being resurfaced and the balls were very old!
I asked for a room with a view and was given a lovely room in the old part of the hotel with views over the lawns down to the Thames. The location was good for walking into Oxford along the Thames (about 3.5 miles) and peaceful with good leisure facilities.
