The hotel has massive potential. We had a continental breakfast which was plentiful and proper coffee although a small fridge for the milk and yoghurts would have been ideal. I hope they can fulfil their staffing quota to make the hotel outstanding.

The location was fantastic. The honesty of the staff was refreshing. The room was very spacious and clean but needed a double check/refresh before people arrive. Plenty of tea/coffee/milk/biscuits. The kindness of the staff was great. We would stay again.

The brewery need to start listening to the staff, there is a few improvements that could be made, upstairs needs an upgrade,although my room was spot on,room 16 ,the breakfast was disappointing the first day, doesn't need to be fancy, noone needs herbs in their baked beans and over done bacon. Definitely need to employ a decent chef, feel really sorry for the staff, they try thier best but have no support, would hate to see the dolphin shut down

Radiator not working well (think it needed to be bled). No radiator in shower room to hang damp towels. Extractor fan had been turned off causing condensation (found the switch and turned it back on)

I would have liked the option of a cooked breakfast. I understand the hotel was let down at the last minute and what was provided was good. The staff were efficient and friendly.

The noisy extractor fan would have disturbed others but there was no adjoining room on that side.

Warm, welcoming and centrally located. Super clean room. Friendly and helpful staff on checking in and at breakfast (we stayed Monday and Tuesday nights, the pub was not open for drinks or other meals). Plenty of choice for breakfast, very well cooked and nicely served. Would definitely stay again.

Only minor points to raise here. I had to rush off in the morning so didn't have time to mention them at the desk. The main light in my room (14) took a very long time to 'warm up'. I suggest replacing the bulb with an up-to-date version. The wash basin mirror light didnt work. A pity that no real ales from Devon were on offer. I'm assuming that the hotel is a Hall & Woodhouse owned establishment. The Badger Best however was very good.

Very friendly staff. A lovely home-made veggie curry for my evening meal. A really good hearty breakfast. Options for fruit juice, plenty of cereal choices, a nicely proportioned and presented full English main course, toast you could 'customise' with the revolving toaster and great coffee. Good to have a key for access after the hotel had closed for the evening. Plenty of hangers in the wardrobe - makes a welcome change! Great value for money!

Location, history of the hotel in Beer with the photos etc really lovely. Great to have function rooms. Will be looking at arranging something here next year.

The shower could have had more pressure and some of the dcor was a bit old fashioned but it's clear they are in the process of refurbishing certain areas.

Really friendly staff good welcome nicely decorated and we had everything we wanted in the room. Beds were comfortable and the sheets were very clean. Tv and room all worked well which was good.
