Our only pointer would be - Cocktail bar Mood lighting / better music choice for the clientele sometimes radio was on… Better seating - make it more of a room customers want to stay in… The room at the end was also a little atmosphere - less

The breakfast wasn't as good as I expected. The veggie option in the evening was very limited. It's geared .ore towards meat eaters. Reception staff a little stiff. My friend felt we weren't looked down a little. You didn't get that warm welcoming vibe.

The pool, the room which was very spacious with a clean and fabulous shower.

Mattress was a little thin and light under the room door was a bit of a disturbance but not enough to turn us away. The spa was quint but definitely tired and needs some tlc.

We stayed for post Christmas break as a treat, and we can say it was beautiful. Everything we expected. The staff at reception were super friendly and couldn't help enough. The room was an executive room with ample room, lovely and cosy. Plenty of storage and space to sit. We had an evening meal in the bar and the staff member was super helpful and friendly. Breakfast both mornings had great selection and service was pleasant. The spa was just was needed. The outdoor areas were great to explore though recent wet weather and poor shoe choice meant we couldn't explore the maze. Would highly recommend and would definitely return

I’m reluctant to write anything negative about our stay, as what’s not to like about a dog-friendly spa hotel! (If you have a dog that is). And it really was a lovely, friendly place. But I thought the bar came up short. It was obviously tied in to some large drinks group and so the wine list was not very inspiring and you couldn’t ask for any off-menu cocktails. They didn’t offer anything to eat, not even a bag of crisps! The young barman, who clearly didn’t want to be there, told us to go upstairs to the fitness suite and buy crisps from the vending machine. This was the only blip in the hotel’s otherwise excellent service

Tea served in a dirty teapot (quickly changed) sausage missing off one breakfast , black pudding off another. No atmosphere in bar area.

I was slightly short of time in the morning and 2 couples who entered the restaurant after me had their orders taken before mine. Room 43 was not easy to find on a dark, wet evening.

Spa was small and seating around the pool was inadequate. We were woken by vacuuming at 0900 when check out wasn’t until 11, and a neighbouring room had barking and howling dogs (website states well behaved dogs only. Staff tried to justify this by saying everyone thinks their dogs are well behaved…. Which I appreciate being a dog owner, but these disturbed our stay)

Lovely location and nice surroundings. Rooms were clean and dining facilities were very good.

The heating and hot water boilers failed and we had no showers and it was cold. Our bathroom was poorly maintained, no cover on the sink tap, no cover on the toilet seat pad and several floor tiles cracked. The bedroom carpet was scruffy and had several black marks. The hotel entrance Christmas lights were left on overnight and flashed into our bedroom First evening dinner was disappointing, plates and food cold, limited menu choice and very overpriced

Beautiful location unfortunately it rained non stop breakfast and evening meal were excellent but bar food was very average and wine price for a two glasses was astronomical

Disappointing breakfast experience both mornings. My eggs florentine were dreadful. Burnt muffins and rock hard poached eggs. The full English….obvious the fried eggs had been kept on a warmer far too long, the bacon was hard, dry and overcooked, the black pudding, again hard and inedible. The field mushroom was gorgeous. Very thin cold white toast. Dinner, the first night was excellent, the second not so, very rushed, no break between starter and main, we had booked for eight o clock and by nine fifteen we were the only people left in the restaurant, staff made up tables around us, we felt uncomfortable so we didn’t have a desert. The no break at all between courses was detrimental and we would have expected more from this type of establishment.

We stayed in a superior double. The bed was very comfortable, good pillows. The room was tired in places but given the type of property that’s to be expected. The bathroom was modern, plenty of hot water, had a bath with a shower over it. There are plenty of different seating areas around the hotel, a bar, a spa, restaurant and library. The gardens looked very interesting but the weather was not in our favour so we didn’t get a good look around.

The rubbery bacon for breakfast was the only slight disappointment. Every other food stuff was exquisite.

Night noise of other guests, we have had people trying to use their key in our door at 1:30am which I had to make them aware it wasn't their room. Hotel didn't quieten down until after 2am. This was very annoying especially when you spend good money for your supposedly relaxing experience. The external area around the kitchen as you pull up, was also very untidy, this could have easily been corrected with a small fence around the area to hide all the waste. Not what you really want to see as you approach the hotel.

Staff and facilities amazing, the snow on and around the grounds really set the scene perfectly. Food and drinks all great and excellent value.

Hire of robes. Jacuzzi defective. Plant hum at night in bedroom. Car access at night difficult to navigate. Don't rely on sat nab!

Good sized well appointed room with rain shower and lovely toiletries. Hotel was quiet. Nice but small spa. Food amazing and wines went well with our selections. Restful atmosphere.
