Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomStairwell is in a state of disrepair, plaster falling off the walls and broken furniture lying around on all landings. Strong smell of cigarette smoke. Noise from the pubs until we’ll after 1am Thursday , Friday and Saturday nights. No toiletries or hand soap ( see this in previous reviews so feedback clearly not addressed despite assurances from the management). Limited crockery available. No coffee or sugar provided, only a handful of tea bags. No communication prior to arrival and wrong code given by Booking.con Misleading marketing- no bath just a shower. Broken bed head and noticeable damage to paintwork in bedroom. Property marketed as high end however would suit basic traveller with money to spare!
Handy for train station and proximity to beach and coffee shops.

PolandThe stairwell to the property is a hazard. It is dirty, smells od urine, there is fungi on the walls, broken furniture laying around. The windows in the apartment were covered in bird excrements, there was a smell in the apartment. We did not stay for the night and found new a new place to stay. No refund. Stay away.

United KingdomLimited and Basically equipped Kitchen Poor communication from Host regarding minor issues that were reported I reported a number of minor issues by WhatsApp to the Host who seemed keen to respond and advised they would be addressed, however did absolutely nothing for the duration of my stay (not good, if you tell me you are going to do something, you could at least do it, or communicate why it was not done) TV didn't work (as above re 1 of the minor issues). I was advised that this would be fixed by an engineer during my stay, however nothing was actually done and no further communication offered by the host
Great Location on the High Street Easy Parking outside Free after circa 17:00 and up to 08:30 Good Secure Door Locks (as long as Key Box was not compromised) Good communication with PDF detail about the property provided Tea, Coffee, Sugar, Orange Juice and Crisps left for the guest, thank you
