From the moment you walk in you know you are in for a special experience. Our deluxe king room was lovely and spotless with a great view of the garden and the water. The bar is incredibly well stocked and beautifully decorated. It is such a wonderful spot to enjoy with fellow travelers. There is also a cozy library. Breakfast was so much more than expected, with hot selections cooked to order, as well as standard continental fare. The building itself, the decor, and ambiance are impeccable. The attention to detail throughout and the thoughtfulness of the hosts and their team far surpassed our expectations. The house is within walking distance of the heart of Oban and many of its wonderful restaurants, shops and the distillery.

Dungallan House is a truly exceptional place. The building must surely have the prime location in Oban. The gardens are beautiful and very peaceful and the views are exceptional. But that's just the start. The staff, managed by Simon and Kirsty, are amazing. Nothing is too much trouble and they made us, and I'm sure all the guests, feel very special. Breakfast was excellent and even the packed lunch we ordered one day was lovely. Everything is done just perfectly and with great care and taste.

Beautiful setting, and the remodeling from several years ago brought this lovely place back to its former glory. It has a lovely outdoor garden and fountain, spectacular water views, and a remarkably stocked bar. The breakfast was delicious. I chose the traditional Scottish breakfast, and I suspect if choosing this at another establishment, likely will be disappointed that it didn’t meet the Dungallan Country House standards. In short, the whole experience from start to finish was superb. Simon, Kirsty, and Jacquelyn made my stay truly memorable.

Excellent old mansion to stay in with beautiful views of the bay. Simon and Kirsty were very friendly and helpful with our stay. The sitting room and bar were first class with an outstanding collection of Scotch Whiskey.

There was nothing we didn't like.

The location was beautiful, with amazing views. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, without being intrusive. The hosts were outstanding. Again, knowledgeable and friendly. The house is clean, tasteful and so peaceful. The breakfasts are top class. There is nothing we could fault. Our room was upgraded, without asking, which was a lovely surprise.

I didn’t like that I had to leave.

The property is lovely and well maintained. The rooms are beautifully decorated, the library is well stocked with a variety of vacation reads and the lounge/bar area is hard to leave. I also had an afternoon tea, which was outstanding.

That I only booked 2 nights

The place was so beautifully designed, you have a bar for a night cup, a library you can relax have coffee/ tea and just read. Breakfast was amazing with very large selection of cooked options. Room was beautifully designed, and very comfortable- with very nice selection of hot drinks as well as complementary water and soda. As well as safe, robe, slippers, safe ironing board etc. Owners were/ are very welcoming and nice and so is the stuff. Loved every minute was very sad to leave.

Booked as a Christmas present for my parents, they had the time of their lifes. The hosts couldn't do more for them, just fantastic hosts and people. The room was amazing, and huge. Overall one of the best places they have ever stayed. If I could rate it 20/10 I would.

I cannot say enough good things about this lovely B&B - from the kind and helpful proprietors and staff, the stunning sea views, the decor, comfort and cleanliness, to every detail, big and small. Truly one of the nicest hotels we’ve ever stayed in, and we travel a lot.

Everything about the stay at Dungallan was incredible, from our welcoming and friendly hosts, to the comforts and style of our accommodations, the resplendent whisky bar, the outrageously beautiful view of Oban and the nearby islands, the delicious and varied breakfast offerings…I could go on forever. If you are traveling to Oban and can spare the luxury, stay here.

I suppose...... to be picky........ the room could have been a little ..... roomier???

This is an exceptional hotel and the location is glorious. We know Oban fairly well but really enjoyed returning there and having a night in this beautiful hotel.

An absolutely beautifully restored period property with lovely garden and phenomenal views across Oban bay Amazing team and Simon and Kirsty couldn’t do enough for their guests. Great team.

Nothing, everything perfect. I have tried to think what could be improved and honestly cannot come up with a item.

The breakfast was delicious, traditional Scottish, smoked haddock, kippers, fresh fruit , pancakes or continental. The hotel was exceptional, the linens, furnishings, and excellent customer service. Cannot recommend this hotel enough - absolutely fabulous!
