We thought the beds could do with new mattresses and from a safety angle a rail on the wall down the stairs? We were baffled at first by the shower until we found the exterior switch - perhaps it could be labelled?!

We all liked the house, location and facilities - plus excellent breakfasts!

Nothing really just a shame there is no parking but again the owners were great at recommending places to park before arrival!

The room was light, clean and comfortable. The owners were friendly, helpful and very good at communication via message and in person. The atmosphere was relaxed and happy.

Great location, exceptionally friendly staff. The facilities in the room are exactly what you would expect but are raised a notch by having a mini fridge with fresh milk and cold water - and the fridge didn't hum! You get to choose your breakfast slot, and there is plenty of choice for a breakfast that isn't pre-cooked! Looking forward to our next stay.

Very friendly and helpful people. Room and facilities very good and clean. Cereals, fruit and yoghurt etc,. in my room since I had tout before breakfast each day. Car park pass was a bonus.

Great variety of choice for breakfast including lots of vege options. Comfortable and clean room. The location was great - less than 5 minutes walk from the beach, coastal path and local pubs and shops. Nette and Colin were really friendly, helpful and accomodating. This is a lovely area for walking, running and swimming. We visited with family and there are also lots of things to do with kids nearby. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely visit again.

Lovely last minute overnight stay here. We had the smallest room, our host emailed and explained this before our arrival. But it was really pretty with a view over the lovely village and we'd have been happy in it for far longer. Breakfast was delicious 😋 Lovely hosts. Clean and comfortable. Highly recommended.

Leaving was the only thing we didn't like

We have stayed at Durham House on a few occasions over the years this was the first time for a few years our hosts were amazing really helpful the breakfasts were excellent. Our room was spotless and our hosts kept on asking if we required top ups of tea/coffee etc also fresh towels

We knew beforehand and also would have been impossible in Beer but no parking at the B&B - and although we got a space in the nearby car park it was not guarenteed - could have been a long walk to the other car park - again all out of the control of the hosts.

The breakfast was one of the best we have had in the UK! Particularly impressed with the vegetarian options. Lovely furniture in the bedroom and spotlessly clean with lovely thick towels.

Location was great; a couple of minutes from the beach and close to shops, pubs and restaurants. Room was a decent size, cosy and clean. Breakfast was lovely. Shame we only had a night. Hosts were very friendly and welcoming.

The room was a little stuffy at night but that's to be expected in the summer - a fan would've been a welcome addition though (to be fair, I didn't ask if one was available). The room I had was very pretty but a little on the small side so it was hard to move around the room at times.

What lovely hosts, so accommodating! I was allowed to check in early which I really appreciated. The room was very clean and had good facilities (tea/coffee etc). I enjoyed the breakfast and even bought one of the paintings from the breakfast room. Location is great as the beach isn't far away. My bathroom was down the corridor from my bedroom which wasn't ideal, but it was for my own personal use and this had been explained to me at the time of booking (a bathrobe was also provided for walking between rooms). I liked the little fridge as you could keep a cold drink in there. The whole place had a really nice smell too :)
