Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOne little niggle was the oven. When we used it it smoked as it needed cleaning. The extractor didn’t work too well either as that also needed a clean. It was a good excuse for me not to have to cook though!
We loved the cottage, it was perfect for a week for the four of us. It has everything we needed & was very well thought out. We received a lovely, warm welcome where everything was explained to us. The site is great for kids, the can play & explore and visit the animals too.

United KingdomThe double bed was very queaky. The door in the main bedroom would not shut properly. Kept creaking open. When booking it appeared that there was a bar and outside jacuzzi within the grounds. This was not the case. so a bit disappointed with that.
Breakfast - NA. Location was good , quiet and relaxing . Cottage was very cosy and clean.

United KingdomNothing not to dislike, a pair of scissors maybe...just a thought for the future as a possibility the rear section would be and I guess could be made into private small gardens with rear door access with slight alteration of kitchen units (costly I know)
Excellent hard working friendly hosts any minor problems and they were rectified. We stayed in the end terrace cottage which was clean and in quality condition we were offered a free breakfast due to a problem with the water heater booster and was lovely thankyou .we would of loved to of said goodbye when we left but you all must of been busy elsewhere

United KingdomNothing we didn't like to be honest.
Really cozy little cottage. We were on the end one, in a small row of terraced buildings. Really clean and comfortable. Really quiet area. Perfect location for us near Kilkhampton and Bude. The staff were really friendly and helpful no matter what we needed. Made us feel really welcome. We took our 13 week puppy for his 1st time away and they were very welcoming of him. Dog friendly location set away from the road. Though we stayed in a cottage all the different types of accommodation looked lovely. Really good value for money. The log burner in the lounge area really made the evenings, nice warm and cozy. Will definitely be staying again and the 3 of us can't wait.

United KingdomThe only niggle we had was that the noise from next door transferred over. I don't think the insulation is very good between buildings.
The cottage itself was light, clean and lovely. A warm welcome from one of the owners. We loved the wood burner! Up to date hob and oven and kitchen. Perfect for what we needed.

United KingdomWe were there during a heat wave so maybe a fan in the bedrooms.
A lovely rural cottage stay. Situated in a quiet court yard in a larger farm setting. Ideally located to visit Bude and beaches (best to bring the car). Child and dog friendly. Great facility, warm welcome from hosts. Relaxed environment with additional extras such as washer, access to an outdoor pizza oven, table tennis, visiting street food truck for dinner, field for playing games and out door camp fire area. Cottage has everything you can need as is very clean

United KingdomNot so much a dislike because we loved our stay but a couple of minor points...creaky floors in our cottage and could also hear creaking from the adjoining cottage and dirty marks on the rug in the lounge and on the light pull in the bathroom.
Lovely, cozy cottage in a beautiful setting. The cottage itself was well equipped and comfortably furnished. Really nice shower with constant hot water and very comfy beds. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Will definitely return.

United KingdomWiFi/Internet was awful, and this did cause issues trying to find loctions on the phone/laptop. You had to go outside to get on. Single beds were stiff. (Adult kids said) Note: we did not mention this during our stay, so we could have done this.
Location as it was close to shops but was very chilled. We didn't use the pizza oven or BBQ, but that was a great feature. Having the dogs with us was a special feature, too.

United KingdomThe Wi-Fi was really poor. One of the sofas was supported by timber. No broom. Doors to wardrobes were very hard to open and close,as was the bedroom door.
It was really clean and comfy. That it had a washing machine and that there was one,and a tumble dryer on site. Extra towels given on request. Excellent shower.

United KingdomThe WiFi ….. there wasn’t first was told it was the weather then told the village was having problems with WiFi but to be honset you only got it when the place was empty of of other residents and it was only a couple of people using it not once was we able to get Netflix or prime video or and any of those channels that the place advertised and having two teenagers with us and internet is all kids know nowadays it was hard going , Next the double bed …. It was like sleeping on a plank of wood for a week every morning woke up with bad back and pain ended up sleeping on sofas as they were more comfortable, after saying to owners about it at end of our stay they said you should of told us sooner we could of bought a new mattress… let’s be in the real world I’m sorry your not gonna just go out and buy one family cos they complain a new mattress! The pizza oven that says can be used was very dirty and covered with cobwebs , dirt and leaves so unless you wanna clean it can’t be used Would be nice to have some leaflets in cottages on places to visit in and around area and place to eat as due to no WiFi you can’t look anything up , and as they do have badminton and tennis items to use it would of been nice to been shown where they are kepted for people to use
On arrival staff were very friendly and helpful showed us to our cottage which was lovely and clean very tasteful decorated and was so quite there , lovely to see the animals on site and be able to feed them if you wanted to

United KingdomThe place was so bare I thought it had been robbed. Not even a coffee table. No condiments.. And hardly any cooking dishes. One of the rings on the cooker didn't work at all and I'm really sorry but the bed is crucifyingly painful to sleep on. I know this makes me look mean but the holiday is described as luxury accommodation. Whoever does the cleaning though deserves a medal as it was absolutely spotless. We made our own coffee table from the fruit box behind the door.
The peace and quiet. Not far into Bude. Good Central location.

United Kingdomthe staff were rude and didn’t give us a tour and demonstration of the facilities around. there was no wifi most of the time as it kept going down. it stated it can with a bath yet only came with one shower. the kitchen had no utensils or even cups.. so had to go and buy our own ti use for the week. we got a noise complaint from the neighbour and they kicked us out a day earlier then we was supposed to leave. this stay was for sure the worst place I’ve ever stayed while being away on holiday. I would not recommend to anyone I know. it was appalling and I waisted good money on an over priced farm house that wasn’t dressed properly.
where it was based was brilliant, but the place itself was awful.

United KingdomAttention to detail. Stained rug. Had seen better days. Filters in the cooker extractor hob needed changing and cleaning. Light bulb in main bedroom needed changing. Paintwork needed a refresh in high traffic areas. All easy to fix, but gave the impression of "cest la vie".
Quiet location and site. Spacious accommodation. Good as a base for visiting local places of interest. Friendly hosts. The layout of the site is well organised. Firepit, pizza oven and the provision of BBQ equipment all big plusses. The Tallett provided an interesting focal point, and gave the site a Mediterranean feel.
