Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomLovely welcome to a clean and warm cottage in a great peaceful location. The property had everything we needed for our stay. Sue, the manager. was very helpful with information about the local area and places to eat. Loved seeing the goats and pig each morning.

United KingdomNothing, for the money, you can't fault it.
The area has parking, a good cottage, and plenty of room. The bedrooms were lovely. The shower is good, hot, and strong! Washing machine, toaster etc, all excellent!

United KingdomUmm... Nothing much. I can't really fault the place for value. I've had nothing but fun every time I've been here. What's not to like?
The log burner, kitchen, bathroom, location and it was soo clean! I've been here about four times now and I'm probably biased about it. Love, love, love the pigmy goats and pig!

United KingdomIt could have been cleaner. It was a luxury property - I'd expect it to be immaculate in all ways. Leaving only two logs - in other properties we've been left a whole basket full.
Beautiful village and property. Tasteful furnishings and lovely bathroom. Well equipped.

United Kingdom- We planned to work for two days at the start of our trip, and booked as it said Wi-Fi was available in all areas. However we couldn’t get any signal where we were, and were usually unable to even find the network. Sue very kindly let us use her wireless router during our stay :) But just worth noting if others plan to use this as a base to “WFH”. - Little freezer box in the fridge doesn’t close properly, but a minor issue. - The master bedroom would benefit from a king sized bed rather than a double, but that is just personal preference.
We stayed in the Nook, which was lovely! It was clean, had everything we needed in the kitchen and gave plenty of space for two of us. It was refreshing to have the goats and pig on our doorstep, and we loved the grounds of the cottage. Having a log fire was a nice touch too. All the staff we met were great - Sue was especially helpful! It looked like there was a bus that ran outside of the property into Bude, although this wasn’t very regular. We enjoyed going into the New Inn in Kilkhampton for a drink and game of pool too!

United KingdomWe truly like everything - like I said we have stayed 3 times now. The only thing I would point out is we feel the bed isn't very comfortable. We stayed in the cranny cottage. Just feel it's not comfortable. Also, it's really noisy! If you so much as move your big toe the bed squeaks! Turning over in the night can actually wake your partner up. Perhaps it needs screws tightening or something? I really don't want to seem like I'm complaining because we do love it here.
We have stayed 3 times now. The staff are really lovely, Sue is so nice! Like the way she remembered my name. Made us feel very welcome.

United KingdomOur stay at the cottage was flawless, with no obvious areas for improvement. Its location, nestled about 2 miles outside of the nearest town, provided an ideal blend of solitude and accessibility. However, we realized it's worth noting for future guests who might be considering it, that walking or cycling to town might not be the safest option. The connecting country road, while picturesque, tends to be quite dark and frequently used by fast-moving vehicles. We had the luxury of our own car, which rendered this a non-issue for us, though we had initially thought of doing this.
The cottage offered a delightful stay in a peaceful, rural setting. We particularly enjoyed the clear, starlit nights due to the minimal light pollution, and the cosy log fire when it turned cold. Inside, the cottage had a practical layout that we found quite pleasing. The settees, equipped with blankets, and the beds were comfortable, and the bedding was both clean and of good quality. The kitchen was well-equipped with all the basic utensils we needed, including but not limited to pans, plates, glasses, and cutlery. There was even a bottle opener on hand - most important! Overall, the cottage provided a pleasant and comfortable stay. We'd be happy to return in the future.

United KingdomThe contrast between an interesting/stimulating rural interesting environment and a place of luxury leisure is finely balanced, in general both are met. Somewhere in the mix in an inherent feeling of warmth and friendship between the owners and users which is difficult to define but clearly felt
A lot of thought and effort has been put into creating an unusual but practical small destination which offers more than one would expect in respect of simple but creative activities for children and adults. They range from table tennis, through football to a small barn which is equipped as a destination for self generated or organised events., the latter is also a useful facility if the weather is inclement
