Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomThe who ambience o the flat was poor. Not a very well maintained apartment. Looks like owner was not really aware of the damages to the floor. The bathroom sink was also blocked and I guess there isn’t a maintenance culture there at all. Great location which could be made better if well cleaned. One would have expected an apartment that charges 400 quid as deposit aside the cost of booking, to be a much more decent place to live. Sorry, but this experience was awful and I hope they take great care to make it habitable.

United StatesFloorboards were all creaky and looking like they were splintering and coming apart. Shower water temperature shifted back and forth between hot and cold. Window blinds unable to operate. Light from outside made it very bright, which affected sleep in the morning. Lots of noise just outside of the window, foot traffic as well.
Short walk to tube. Bed was comfortable.

AustraliaPoor customer service and the apartment was incredibly old that needed refurbishment. I was asked to come before 6 so I arrived just after 5 to find all staff had gone home for the day and I'd need to call another resident to get into the building (they didn't answer). I literally had to follow someone else into the building to access the apartment.

GermanyThe appartment was not very clean. Sticky areas all round the kitchen and living room. The whole floor was sticky. Additionaly the floor needs definitely some renewal, it is damaged at many parts. Also some windows are somehow not ok. Toilet was ok, but not complete cleaned and also some damaged parts around at the walls.
Host was very nice, and service oriented. Fast and easy communication through whats app. The location of the apartment is very good, near Brixton underground station and between Clapham and Brixton, thousands of possibilities do go out, having diner, etc.

I’d paid in full already, and they said the deposit was mentioned numerous times, and very clear. it wasn’t. also check in was done via WhatsApp, and not very professional. they couldn’t make it there in time to meet me so I was told to ring the doorbell of another tenant of the flat to let me in - they didn’t want to for security reasons so I had to wait for someone leaving to hold the door open. then I found my key under the doormat of flat
