Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThere was only one bathroom with one toilet which had plumbing issues. The owners were very responsive and apologetic. The plumbing wasn’t fixed before we left.
The apartment was very roomy and clean great for a family of 5.

United KingdomThe heating wasn't on when we arrived. It took a bit of finding, but eventually we warmed up. It was advertised as 2 bathrooms. We couldn't find the 2nd anywhere.
The accommodation was very good and as expected. A nice walk to and from the city centre.

IrelandA bit far from the city center, having a car is preferred. The bathroom door lock is broken, so you can lock yourself inside. The rooms are quite cold in winter.
Great value for money. The apartment has everything you might need. Perfect for a group, for a short stay. Smooth arrival with a key in a lockbox. Plenty of space to park in front of the house.

United KingdomThe location is a bit off, the street is dirty and doesnt look like the street i wish to stay on..we were concerned about our parked car.. Some strange noise from here and there, ground floor electricity zzzzz and dish washer noise even we didnt use ..
The apartment is recently refurbished, it has everything we need and quite spacious.

QatarTwo of the bedrooms need better curtains or blinds to block out the light in the evening and early morning and the carpet in the hallway was a bit impractical. The street the flat is on isn't very picturesque and there is no balcony or outdoor area.
Host and space were brilliant. The flat was well spread out over 3 floors with comfortable beds and a fully equipped kitchen. The host responded quickly to any queries and was extremely helpful even though we arrived very late. It seemed a bit pricey at first given the location but given the size and proximity to the centre I would say it was good value overall.

United KingdomThere was no hot water, the internet didn't work, and the television signal was poor. The mattresses were uncomfortable and we all had a poor night sleep. In my opinion, it wasn't suitable for a family with children. It felt more like a property you'd go to if you were having a night out and not spending time in it.
Communication with the host was great, ten minutes drive to tourist spots such as the titanic museum. It was a spacious place, plenty of room for five of us to have their own space.

United KingdomWhile the property was nice and good for value , sadly the cleaning was not up to scratch at all , contacted the owner with pics who did say they would contact the cleaning company but we had to fully the clean the appartment as food was left on stuff, make up on sides , oven was disgusting and had to rewash all plates and knife and forks etc ( took use almost 2hrs between us ) also the bed was broken and held up with boxes and the mattresses weren’t very comfortable Fire door had been left open and wouldn’t close had to go down very dirty ally with mud and grim to close it from outside Think then cleaning company needs to be changed as it’s did ruin the whole experience, but we made the most of it either way
Very authentic Irish feel , as it’s in private street with lovely neighbours, kids playing in the street etc , overall nice experience

United KingdomThe pictures do not show the true state of the property. The street on which the property is located is terrible. Full of young children playing out with go karts and all sorts of toys that can cause damage to your car. Wheelie bins left outside one side of the property two old settees outside the house on the other side. Looks like a very run down area in poor condition. I did not stay in the property because I did not feel comfortable and did not feel my car was safe parked outside.

United KingdomNothing! Everything was great.
Lovely, clean aesthetic. House is very spacious - bottom floor has the bathroom which is huge! The shower is amazing! The next level is the kitchen and living room / dining room area, again both very spacious. There was milk, ice, coffee, condiments etc awaiting - this was a lovely touch! Then you go up another few stairs and there is bedroom number 1, again, lovely and fresh looking! Then finally you go up another few stairs and there is 2 more bedrooms. All bedrooms are great sizes! Check in was super easy and stress free! The hosts were great when needing to be in contact with! Had a lovely stay! Will definitely be recommending this property to others! And I will definitely be back! Great value for money!

United KingdomApartment very cheaply refurbished - looks amazing on the photos but not like this in reality. Tiles cracked in bathroom and kitchen in lots of places, no tile trims, silicone everywhere, shower screen dangerous and siliconed into place - children knocked it afew times and we were worried it would come down. furniture marked, plates and cutlery dirty, x3 seater sofa for a x6 house, screw came through the seat pad on the chair in the living room and cut my little boy when he was simply sitting there, beds were like sleeping on a sack of potatoes and awful location. Very rough area, Friday night we were kept awake ALL night by fighting, screaming, slamming doors. Shop keeper told us that is the normal for that area. Rubbish all over the streets, dog mess literally everywhere on the streets.
Very nice hosts who messaged with clear instructions prior to arrival. Easy collection of keys Cheap taxi ride into Belfast city centre Friendly Irish charm Great for historical and site seeing to visit belfast just wouldn’t stay in this area again.

IrelandThe attitude of the owner. The photos on Booking.com in hindsight look like something off Pinterest not realistic. While we did not enter the property. What we saw from the outside did not match the image created on Booking.com. We had to cut short a much-needed family break as we had to book a hotel at short notice and the owner of Eia Street refused to refund us. I wish I had read all of the reviews and taken photos of the exterior of the house. We booked this apartment in early January but I couldn't leave a review as the owner had marked us as a no-show on the booking despite having several conversations with me on the day of arrival. I had to contact Booking.com several times to have this removed and allow me to leave an honest review of my experience. I would not want anyone to be left in the situation that we were in with small kids. I wish I had read all the reviews about this property.
The property is not properly represented in the photos on booking.com. This is not an apartment but a house on a very unkempt street. There was antisocial behaviour outside the house. The front door was blocked by overtipped rubbish bins. We were frightened to get out of our car. Our children were upset and frightened. The exterior did not represent what I expected. We could not enter the building due to two men fighting outside. The area seemed unsafe. We rang the owner and explained. He offered us a 1 bedroom apartment nearby. We went to view this property. It was dirty shabby and unsuitable. The owner refused to give us a refund. Despite being contacted by Booking.com and being asked. We were left with nowhere to stay in a strange city on a dark evening with 2 small kids.
